Thats a pretty solid build for $800 bucks!

No doubt about it, you'll notice the speed gain the first time you turn it on.

    Have fun with it!

    Thanks man

I wish I had the money for an FX right now.I ended up buying a 500 watt xconnect psu so add 60 to that price pretty nice system for under 900.

I just got 20k in 3d01 I thought It would of been a little faster than that, maybe a 21k with more tweaks but still Is that a normal score for an x700 pro ?

Seems about right. The bench relies alot on the system power as well. 238 * 10 is ok but not enough for really killer scores with an x700. That said, hopefully the cpu can give you more. I dont know how much you've pushed it but usually you can get more. Maybe I'm wrong though. Score seems close to what a 9800pro box might get before at 238*10 with vc not clocked. I dont know how much better the x700 is in this particular bench.

I agree that you should of gone with a 6600GT, but I am going to build a system soon for around $1,000 (including monitor, keyboard and everything else but OS)

Good luck with your sytem I bought the x700 to save some money.I want to upgrade to a x850 when the r520 comes out.Spending 60 more for the 6600gt was not worth the money for me.

just got 22,197 and climbing new goal 23k

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan to get that X700 and then get the R520.

Hate to bring this back but I just broke 23559 in 01 with windows xp 64 beta.

The only thing holding me back from braking 24k is my crappy winny.I can't get it over 2360 mhz Iv tried everything. This has to be the worst chip ever.

    23k was done with 236x10 2-2-2-2-1t 3.2v
x700 pro at 460 core 527 mem(not bad for an aircooled refurbed card lol)

Good work man, i love to see people pushing their PC's to new goals, especially new machines !!

so $900 these days can get you a great rig!, this puts my rig to shame as i keep on doing impulse buys, when i should be saving up for a Asus 6600gt!

When are the prices going to drop in video cards? you mentioned that they are going to drop when the r520 comes out? whats happening there?

You just spend $800 on parts, don't fry everything by using a crappy PSU. Pick up a nice 24pin PSU to go with your nice parts.

I went out and got an 500watt xconnect psu.

My rails are rock solid with this psu.It was 90 dollars with a 30 dollar mail in rebate(I know im mad cheap)lol

I got my ram to run at 250+ tight timings but my cpu dosnt want to run over 2400 mhz.I tried everything from huge fans, more volts, open case and then I even busted out the tornado 80mm fan with no luck.Highest was 2440 but not stable enough for a 3d bench.
