    GSkill LA - Weird Problem

First and foremost - hello everyone and thank you for this amazing forum .

Now, for my question (which might be a total n00b one ) :
I have the spec in my sig and my CPU hits wall when reaching 2550 but in this speed it's prime stable.
I decided to play with the memory a bit and when the cpu wasn't overclocked it was able to hit 283@2.5-3-3-6 (Multiplier x7, LDT x3) Memtest #5 & #8 free of problems for hours, however when I bump my multiplier to x9 (which results cpu@2547) there are problems in test #8 after a few iterations. I tried playing with the vcore and lowering my vdimm, only made things worst. I've tried OPB's memory settings and with them I couldn't hit 283 even when no cpu overclock was made, so now all things besides the 2.5-3-3-6 are set to auto (besides 1T and 1:1 of course).

What can be the problem? is it the famous crappy memory controller that everyone talks about (if so I would assume it would fail 283 regardless of the frequency) ?
Any suggestions will be very appreciated

I had similar problems like that. It came down to different type of ram mixing with different cpu's. My 3200 clawhammer hated the 9 multi but loved all the others, but that was only with my generic bh-5. Any other ram I put in there ran great with the 9 multi. Now I swapped that out with my 3700 and put the generic ram back in and whammo, 9 multi work with that cpu and ram. But now my 3700 gives me errors with the 9 multi when I use my ch-5 but the ch-5 died not to long ago so i dont have to worry about that anymore.
