    Question Gskill PC4400LE issues

Seem to be having a few issues with Gskill memory:

    2 sets of 2x 512MB Gskill PC4400LE 431s 808 BP PCB DC kit
    2x 256MB Gskill PC4400LE 431s 808 BP PCB DC kit

    tested on 3 cpus

    1. 3200+ 0450 UPJW does 2717mhz at 1.6v on A8N-SLI Deluxe
    2. 3200+ 0445 VPMW does 2700mhz at 1.6v on A8N-SLI Deluxe and 2745mhz at 1.632v on DFI NF4 SLI-D
    3. 3500+ 0441 TPAW does 2700-2755mhz at 1.6v on A8N-SLI Deluxe

    with 4 boards:

    1. DFI NF3 250Gb
    2. Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 1004.01 bios
    3. DFI NF4 SLI-D 217 and 218 bios
    4. MSI K8N Neo2 1.41mod bios

Only the 2x 256MB Gskill have managed

    1. 275mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 2.8v on DFI NF4 SLI-D 218 bios only when Drive Strength = 6 and Drive Data strength = 4, any lower and it errors out even at 250mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T. Bencheable somewhat at 290-295mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 2.8v with Drive Strength = 6 and Drive Data strength = 4.

    2. 271mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 2.6v on Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

    3. 270mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 2.8v on DFI NF3 250Gb

    4. haven't tried 2x 256MB Gskill on MSI K8N NEO2

But all sorts of probs with 2x 512MB Gskill PC4400 LE pairs

    1. on DFI NF4 SLI-D 218, one pair errors at 201mhz 2.5-3-3-7 and nearly foobared my OS, other pair doesn't do more than 270mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T. While i have gotten 2x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 up to 274mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.68v vdimm

    2. on A8N-SLI Deluxe does do more than 240mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at any voltages. While i got 2x 512MB OCZ PC3700EB singles to 245-252mhz 3-2-2-8 1T

    3. other pair tested on MSI K8N Neo2, no more than 265-270mhz 2.5-3-3-7 1T at 2.6-2.7v

question is how far am i suppose to be able to go into memtest86+ v1.51 for testing ?

    funny thing is testing 2x 512MB OCZ PC3700 Gold rev3 Hynix DTD5 and they're doing memtest fine at 270-275mhz 2.5-3-3-8 1T on DFI NF4 SLI-D 218 bios ?

Not sure what's wrong. However, I might suggest that you are making adjustments in the DRAM settings you don't need to on the DFI mobo.

This last weekend I finished up my 5th set up based on the DFI NF4 and Gskill LE memory. All run the 0209 BIOS. All can hit 300HTT at 2.9v running 2.5 4-3-7 and Optimised Defaults on everything else. Changing to 2.5 3-3-7 is still good for banzi beching above 300 and solid stability in the 290s.

The Asus mobo sucks at overclocking period, and 1T is a disaster much above 245...so those results are not representative of what memory can do.

    Just food for thought.

    BTW,

I didn't write down the RAM PCB markings on three of the builds that already left here. But I'll post back the details on my personal two rigs I have here still. Maybe that'll help, maybe not. But, I do know that I ordered the RAM at various times from various suppliers, so I doubt they are all the same revision.

    Same here.

Bought a set of 2x512LE w/0437 chips, one stick reached 300 2,5-3-3-7 1T @2.8V on my LP UT 250 GB, the other one errored at 275 same timings same slot in memtest test5.

RMA-new set w/0431 chips, same thing over again, one stick doing 300, this time w/ 3.0V, the other stick errored every pass in memtest at exact the same address, no matter what settings/voltage.

RMA again-new set w/ 0437 chips, this set is even worse, one sticks gives about 2-4 errors in 10 passes, the other one over 1000 in 10 passes at 275.

RMA gets tough now since the store thinks i'm doing something wrong.

I will too if I can finally get hold of my local reseller... I sent a couple of e-mails to my reseller and G.Skill but I have yet to receive any word from them...

How can they say that they provide 100% Quality assurance and 100% RAM service if they don't even reply to their customers e-mails....
