That's a nice power curve you have there. Your torque is nice and flat.Originally Posted by mdzcpa
It's amazing what a few little ball bearings, some springs, and some gaskets can do for regulating the flow of tranny fluid, resulting in the firming up of those shifts. Shift kits rock. I know you already have 4.10 gears, so the requirement for a higher stall speed torque convertor isn't an uber-necessary deal unless you'd like to get right into the sweetspot of your torque output off the line. However, if you ever feel like pullin' off some wheelies from a stoplight, I'd look into the higher stall convertor.Originally Posted by mdzcpa

LOL...yeah, that would be fun!
All kidding aside, I haven't sprung for the torque converter due to the degraded OEM feeling that comes with it. These cars respond with jerky/lurchy feeling with a higher stall. I know a few Marauder guys with the stall and they did indeed pick up some nice gains with a looser Stallion converter. But I just don't like the feel for normal street driving. Not to mention I love the smooth low end launch on the street when I'm not at WOT. Compromises, compromises
To get into the 11's all I need is my new gas tune. That should put me over. If not, I'll be hitting it with a 50 shot!

Might as well make it a direct port 100 shot plumbed straight to the runners of your manifold. I don't know how much of a lead foot you are, but a 10-pound bottle would last me two days at the most. I had a hard time keeping my finger off of the trigger.Originally Posted by mdzcpa

The NO2 on this set up is a dry system that connects after the mass air meter, but before the blower. It cools the compressor down that way.
There is only one other blown/Nos Marauder in the country and he's running 11.57s. Basically my set up plus NOS. No gutting of the car. Every bell and whistle intact. Simply amazing for a 4200lb boat!

LOL...yeah I stepped up the Marauder even more since the last time you were in it. Added about another 70RWHP which should put me into the 11s now

I may increase the power level on my car, but it's fast enough for me right now...and I like having a warranty.
mdzcpa, nice car.
Some people have swapped their Marauder engines for the stronger Cobra's...something to consider if your engine should begin to complain.
BTW, I read MM&FF also...some good tech stuff in there (a little too much drag racing for my tastes, though).

I picked up #2 and the Blazer about 2months ago. The Grand Am is dyeing a slow death and just wasn't reliable anymore. The Blazer is nice with only 50k miles. #2 had a fuel rail fire which these cars are notorious for, its a work in progress and will most likely end up begin a track car. (PCA, SCCA, DE).
Anywho, here is a shot of the blazer from today, finally starting to get nice out.

As in the SC46, C469, or C460? I know they should all fit (as the block is identical in everything but materials), I was just wondering which is more common.Originally Posted by lutjens

It got owned by a Chevy half-ton. Right now I'm a POS auto '89 - still a LX, and saving for a Cobra. I'll be pretty much re-assemballing it from the ground up so basically any IRS New-Edge Cobra (99-04).

I still have my 91 MX5 but to be honest, i can barely drive it on the streets in Michigan anymore (the roads are getting really bad here). I modded pretty much everything in the suspension/chassis for driving in the metro Atlanta area and X-cross without any consideration of moving back to Michigan. The roads around mid-Michigan are so bad now i need a kidney belt to drive for very long even with the spring perches up around stock height and full soft the KYB shocks. (You ford guys need one of these 1,800lb chassis to play with)
I tossed in the only pic of my last noteworthy SUV a 98 Wrangler just for the heck of it. Kinda wish i still had it now just to get around.

'95 Eagle Summit DL - the car no one has ever heard of...
It's my first car, so don't expect too much.
It's got about 130-140 horsepower to the front wheels, transmitted through a 5-Speed Manual, and weighs in at ~2500 pounds. A surprising amount of jump for a "micro-van." I haven't pushed it to the top speed yet, but I've heard people with the exact same car were able to hit 250 KPH (~155 MPH). I find that hard to believe. I've hit 60MPH in second gear once, but I'm not even sure what the RPM was because it's got no tachometer! My friend took off at 3rd gear once, and on a leveled road. To my great surprise, it pulled it off without stalling, but the smell of the roasted clutch stayed in the car for days, it was wonderful.
Everything in the car except for the headunit and speakers are stock. I replaced the cassette player and horrible 5w speakers with a Sony head-unit and generic 440w pounders. They deliver a suprising amount of bang for just 4 satellites with no sub or amp.
