Oh my fugger, neat stuff you got there...
fugger, can you do Sandra RAM bandwidth test? tnx...
I might be blind, but what memories are you using? OCZ what?
I think it might be something like this:
OCZ PC2-5400 Platinum Enhanced Bandwidth ?
7700k @ 5.0GHz
ASUS Z170-Deluxe
2x8GB Avexir Raiden DDR4-3000 15-15-15-35
Gigabyte Aorus 1080 Ti @ 2076/1500(6000)
512GB Samsung PM961 + 840 Pro 256GB + some TBs
Corsair AX1200i
X-Star DP2710LED @ 110Hz + 40" Samsung TV
CPU and GPU under water: 9x120 rad + 3x120 + 3x120
...and an HTC Vive!
Okay, thanks. To bad there isn't any 256MB modules :/
Death, Bottom of page two in this thread has some sick sandra shots.

so what speeds are you at at the moment? Have you run any benches like 3dmark01 or aquamark yet? How bout doing us another SPi run, at whatever your current highest clock speed is. I gotta admit, this is bloody impressive.

thnx fugger, i missed it....those are some nice sandra buff/unbuff shots......ram timing is really wicked too...
how does your abit aa8xe compare to this board?
about how much will they cost when they come out?

Calcal
chevette < corvette, you do the math. max top speed on aa8xe was 5.6Ghz benchable. Max benchable FSB 321
Ran some 2K1 and it makes my EE look bad. AM3 doesnt like the X850XT PE.

none of the less thats still a great overclock, but it doesnt meet your needs : (
You got a thread on that attemp to oc with aa8xe?
Have you tried the asus 925x boards?

Looks like a f'in great board there.
you meant, sent to CPU-Z/ClockGen team right? good job......can't wait to see the CPU-Z shot of that 7+ Gigger =)...Originally Posted by FUGGER

Fugger,
Are DFI definately shipping soon, if so ill cancel my order for the 925x and get one of these instead. I've checked their site and cant see any mention of it.
I7 Processor on phase 5.5ghz
i like the red pci slotslol

What are the differences between the 925x and the 925XE? I mean I see some physical differences. But what are the meat and potatoe diferences?
Nothing. The 925XE is simply qualified to run 1066 MHz FSB by Intel.Originally Posted by MONSOON
Ahh! So its not that the 925x cant run 1066 FSB, its just not made to natively? Am I understanding you correctly?Originally Posted by DanIdentity
Since Intel have implemented a 10% overclock limitation in all their 900 chipsets the 925XE have an advantage because it's native 266MHz = 292MHz FSB is max on a regular board and 915/925X are limited at 220MHz on a regular. Most motherboard makers have made a workaround with the limitation so that 350MHz FSB (and lately 400MHz FSB reached on Abit 925XE by Shamino) are reachable, but only with 925XE. The 925X can't go beyond 250-270MHz FSB (except for the DFI 925X - seems to go 300MHz I remember Fugger mentioned he reached).... the 925X motherboard does not have a working PCI-E lock as well like MOST 925XE.Originally Posted by MONSOON
I don't think it's the 925X's fault it don't overclock that well compared to the 925XE. I think that it took the motherboardmakers to long to learn how to manage the PCI-E and the 10% limitation workaround to reach those speeds... now they've learned and there are some good 925XE out there. Maybe later revisions of the 925X will just as good if they wanna re-engineer them.
So for someone like me who likes to OC, but not to the extremes that some of you guys do. The 925x would be a good solid board or is it better to get the 925xe because of the improvements that have been made? Extreme OCer or not.
I have tested a few DFI 925X boards and they reach 299FSB without any problems. These are the only 925x boards that I can confirm that dont have an oc limitation other than topping out at 299FSB exactly.

Did you have to disable any onboard components to reach the 299? I know that on some 915P motherboards you have to disable onboard NIC (if it's attached to the PCI-E) to reach a FSB of just 250MHz and then the PCI-Express bus won't be useable for peripherals... 915P and 925X should be in the same boat when thinking of the limitation.Originally Posted by FUGGER
..maybe. My impression is that you have to disable a lot of peripherals to overclock because of a PCI-Express bus wich is'nt locked at 100MHz. Maybe Fugger can confirm this is'nt the case on all 925X'sOriginally Posted by MONSOON
