yes, thats all!
you have now the 3,3v rail directly connected to/as vdimm.
vdimm is now normally 3,3v, or you mod the psu for more.

If you can lower your multiplier, it would be nice to skip a few steps and jump straight to 167FSB... where I believe the next divider kicks in. With 167fsb, 75agp/37pci, you can give it a try.

do you think it should work just fine at the limits of the dividers, such as 1mhz before it switches back down?

Quick question you guys might be able to help with concerning FSB.
I have a 1.5 dothan currently running at 147x15 in the AOpen board. I have only done the pin mod for more vcore as i dont trust my non-existant soldering skills on a £160 mobo!

I have the pci at 75/37 and my mem divider at 3/4 so my ram (2x512 Ballistix 3200) is running at roughly 200 fsb. I tinkered with the fsb but cant get it to post higher than 150, even with low multipliers.

My question is: Is this likely to be a CPU limitation or am i not doing something right?

I don't think this chip has reached it's end yet, it has more potential

It's rather fsb-limited. Now I have to find a vdd mod (up FSB) or buy another dothan with with higher MP.

Hmm - you have a much higher vcore than me - that could be how you get higher clocks.

higher vcore shoudlnt affect the max fsb, it should affect the max of the cpu
is this right or wrong?

your o/c are very impressive.
I noticed the AGP/PCI clocks are very high.
I made a beta version of clockgen for ICS950813, this version fixes the AGP/PCI clocks. This is not 100% reliable unfortunately, but it is worth trying !

Will try it on my aopen card when I do get home from work. I'm currently without internet connection at home so update will come tomorow.

The locks that already works on the aopen are a bit buggy during reboot they somtimes drop without any obvious reason. Push reset a couple of times and they suddenly work again. Weird behaviour.

the highest fsb i can boot at and maintain on my DFI board is 175MHz (my 24/7 clock is 175*15). I need some more voltage into my mushy blacks before i can get a decent bench. my record atm is 32 seconds

Tested some yesterday:

It works reasonably well.

Minor Bug:

Pci speed is set slightly under spec, gives 33,0 instead of 33,3

Major Bugs:

If you overcook it and your system hangs, you will have to delete the files from the disk and re-extract them. If you don't system will hang when you press the get speeds button.

It gives DFI like behavior, in other words I did get graffics lagging at a far earlier point than using 75/37 lock. Lagging starts in the mid 130ish. Instead of mid 140ish. But it became fine over 168 again.

Observation:

Lagging only occures when using ATI cards.

Lagging seems dependant on both FSB and PCI speeds.

I have good indications that AGP lock IS working.

Max and Min Speeds of internal chipset gfx is set by dividers. Definately from FSB, but might also be dependant of PCI speed. How this actually works is very interresting, if someone with indepth knowlege can dig into this it would be nice.

Lagging Theory:

When using ATI cards there is some sort of interfearance with the internal chipset gfx. Either at HW or Driver level, so that the internal gfx is not completely shut off.

When FSB is pushed, so are the speeds of the internal gfx, when beyond a certain point it gives lagging behavior. And when pushed beyond a higer certain point a new set of dividers kick in, resulting in usable FSB's after that point again.

Thats one of the few ideas I have left, since both PCI lock and AGP lock seems fine.

i'll be getting a dothan when dfi comes out with a good i915 board, along with an x800xl, i hope that it does better, but in some ways, it will be similar to the current board, so good information like yours is very handy. (and i like havign a space bar again, so nice)

No but I have the aopen board and it works fine with the booster in it. Only the DFI board suffers from booster "frying".

what is it, where do I get it, where do I find information on it? if it is a dothan-->socket 478 adapter.... i'll be getting a p4 board soon!

I have heard that they are electrically compatible and that they use the same bus, but there are difference such as signaling voltages and the pins are COMPLETELY rearranged. maybe this fixes it? please cite your info

i'm an amd kinda guy, so i'm not in the know about p4 mobos. what is the best p4 motherboard that will accept this adapter and a pcie vid card along with ddr1? o, for overclocking, in a reasonable price range

hey guys don't you think there are some SERIOUS faults on this adapter 479->478?
what about those dip switches and power connector???
it WILL interfere with heatsink mounting...

I am myself expecting it, as I am using P4C800-E Dlx mobo with northwood.
