hey's guy's I just tried out the 2/09 bios on the DFI NF4, and noticed at 265 my VX was giving off a ton of errors which it didn't with the 2/25. Basically I noticed that after the Level4 option in the bios, some of the settings were changed from auto in the 2/25 to different values. Now being the idiot I didn't try changing one at a time to isolate what setting it was, but by changing all to auto and the second to last to 07x I was able to run 265 again with no errors.

    2-2-8-2-7-16-2-2-2-2-auto-auto-enabled-auto-0-auto-level4-auto-auto-auto-auto-auto-07x-auto

Now I am sure these are not very great optimised settings as I only get 3.8K unbuff at 265 but it does atleast let me get an OC and able to tweak a bit. Just thought you all might want to try it out.

Have you tryed changeing the 16 to a 17 and see if it helps get you higher clocks?

Actually I really haven't tried changing much. I just really got this board set up a day or so ago. Half of those settings I got off of a post by Radelon. Now on my K8N Neo2, 261 was tops. So in all I am getting a little higher clock off the bat.

I am running to work right now though, but I will try tonight to see what happens. I am also going to try and isolate what settings were giving the errors.

5 uses less ram so the ram that is being utilized will heat up more than using test 8, possibly. But test 8 runs longer (but through more ram, so..).

Nobody has looked into which is better really..

I've heard to run test 5 looping first for your burn in. Then find your max where it doesn't show any errors and then run that same FSB with test 8. Usually it will show some errors until your FSB comes down but not much maybe 1 to 3 FSB. Just my 2 cents

If you are running, say - 3,3V. Wouldn't you need some cooling besides the OCZ heatspreaders?

vx dont really get warm btu I always had a silenx 80mm over them via a zalman bracket, more to keep the booster cool than anything.

Tony from OCZ (thanks to Ryanpgroovy) has kindly offered for me to send the dead VX to him and he will have immediate replacement shipped from US.
Lucky for me he is due to meet his US counterparts or I would have had to mail them to US.

    cheers OCZ guys.

Well, not all is pink color.

I tried a kit of 1 GB (OCZ PC3200 VX) and was something disappointed. They were unstable at 3.1v 200 MHz 2-2-2-8, but at 3.2v they were stable up to 240 MHz wirh 2-2-2-5 and without preburning.

Now my problem, I don't know why but my OCZ Booster was unstable with these memories, even if I tried 3.4v the voltage sometimes fell to 3.0v causing in that moment my Windows to crash and to restart, with a pair of BH-5 my Booster was completely stable and never had a problem, geez.

So I had a chance to sell both, my VX and my Booster to different people, phew, now I'm waiting for my GSkill LA, let's hope I'd be happy.

I wish I could know. I'm using a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-cool 510 Deluxe and the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. The Booster was fine with BH-5, but with the VX no luck.

Hey, i am just wondering if people could help me out with my OCZ Gold VX timmings. i got the following hardware:
    DFI NF4 Ultra-D motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939 with XP-120 and fastest Panaflo
    OCZ powerstream 520watt psu
    OCZ 2x512MB PC3200 Gold VX
    ATi X850XT-PE PCI-Express
    Raptor HD 74GB

The best Stable overclock i have gotton is 260x10 at 1.6vcore 3.5vDimm at 2-2-2-8 timmings but i know that the Gold VX can do better, any suggestions or exact settings to use on my Gold VX with the DFI NF4 motherboard?, Thank you.

Edit: I am using the stock BIOS 1/25, out of the beta ones is their a really good one to use?

Hi, you can run at 200mhz, aith 2-2-2 timings using 3.2v for about 48 hours. 24 hours minimum. Run memtest and loop test 5. Memtest can be turned on in your BIOS.

This procedure seems too help when you crank up the volts and speeds later.

I will be starting a thread tomorrow with some suggested VX timings here on XS. Check it out then.

okay, but as for the memtest, i looked all over in my BIOS and found nothing related to turning on memtest or memtest itself at all!?, my guess it is under some other name in the BIOS other then memtest but i dunno what its then called.

it is in the bios genie section. Just keep scrolling down under the voltage options and you will see it.

As far as your previos post, 260 is pretty good. Mine do 265 but only after burn in. I have a post around here somewhere with some timings to use, but I haven't investigated every option in the dfi bios. I have my pc3700 gold rev 3's in right now so I can't even check a64 tweaker.

**EDIT** Here's the link to my post. Just something to try.

I looked below the voltages, and all thats there is the 2 lan cards, SATA ports and firewire options no memtest at all, i am on the stock 1/25 BIOS so i guess i gotta flash to 1 of the betas to get memtest built into the BIOS?
