IMO that's a very interesting fact. Most people assumed that this card would be powerstarved, but if a card without powerconnector is able to reach these clocks it has quite a nice headroom.

And another note: I fully agree with charlie:
I couldn't enjoy a 500$ GPU.. I'd think every day, "how much is it still worth; should I try to sell it on ebay while it hasn't lost that much of its value"
Had this feeling with my 9800XT and I hate it ... and if I want to make an investment, I'd rather buy some silver coins lol.
