MSI K8N Diamond SLI - OC results

The MSI Diamond SLI seems to be a good OC board, here are some quick results :

This with TCCD's with just 2.7v (mem voltage goes up to 2.85v).

It just needs a new Bios with more than 1.65v on VCore (there is already one beta bios for Platinium SLI that suports 1.85v), with that well be almost perfect.

For Bios 1.0 is incredibly stable, I would say even more than Neo2.. good work MSI

    Very nice result Pedro

Is 355MHz HTT complete stable? And how about Voltage dropping under load?

Next week I will get the Neo 4 ultra with 3000+ s939 under phase change

That is good news, cause MP9 requires good HTT.

Ow one question, the devider(s) are they working propally at 300 ~ 355MHz HTT?

my 3x LDT isn't working properly.

CBID reports HT as 1040, but my bios is set to 260x3.

this is on 1.21 beta bios. I will flash back to 1.1 official and see what happens.

EDIT: CBID is just messed up, sandra reports it correctly.

ah, damn 1.1 official bios still has CBID reporting it as 4x multi. i can't go past 290 stable with 4x.

    EDIT: CBID reports wrong.

Pedro Rocha, are you registered as a Diamond club member? If there are any BIOSes there, what are they like?

EDIT: Just noticed you are registered...

Here's my Neo4 with a Winchester 3000+. I have the beta bios with percentage at 20 percent... and it only gives me 1.66v. Still good enough for this Winchester. It's stable as hell surprisingly. Here's a pic.

What cooling you guys are using. 1.65V was the maximum you could give a winchester on boxed cooler am i right?

Yeah... I used a Zalman CNPS7700-ALcu heatsink. The cool thing about this board is that since I couldn't find memory that can run 1:1 at 300HTT (I even tried several G.SKill's) this board let me use a 180Mhz memory divider rather than only 166Mhz. So now my memory is at 270Mhz instead of only 250. Nice..

in your k8n sli plat do you have options for onboard marvell lan and sil image raid? i have the options in bios but not on the board. I was half suspecting mine had been used, sli connector wasn't in anti static bag like on my asus(and seems like it would have been) , wondering if someone flashed to wrong bios or something. Couldn't get windows installed on a raid 0 using 2x 200GB dm10+'s on the nvidia controller using msi drivers off the cd put onto floppies. Some msi websites say this board does have sil image raid, some say not, most show photo of it with raid.

You can take 2 minutes and solder one 20K VR to fix the vcore issue. 1.85v is solid as a rock with the mod, and you still get the high HTT speeds.

I'll have my board soon, the Neo4 Ultra is already modded and running good, so I can't wait to get this one.

my winchester must really really suck, for some reason i can't even run stable above 290. thats with 3x and with mem divider.

i'll be first in line for revision E. they better fix their memory controller issue for that revision.
