    Nice 1.8a you have there
I've been looking for a 1.6a northwood as i think some were produced for OEM's but it's likely i won't find one for another year or two in some dell or other OEM box.
Anyway, what's that chip there? Is it OEM/Retail?
If it's retail what was the pack date?
I played with a watercooled 2.26bsee here (retail June2004 pack date) one last time on Christmas day (10f ambient) and got it upto 4400MHz. It was only Pi stable to 4333 but the video would not clock up at all as the PSU was falling on it's face so did'nt spend alot of time running over 4300MHz as i thought i was pressing my luck with the PSU.
If you got a way to get it cold go for it!

That Northwood P4 A is going to die soon at 1.888V, that's for sure.

But it is a very nice OC, very nice indeed.

what will be the difference with my 1.25 ?

since it's quite hard to obtain that clock speed, I 'm not very interested in doing it again.
Moreover , I have to use high vcore ( 1.9V ) , and I don't want to experiment the northwood sudden death syndrom

But if there's a good reason to move to 1.26 I 'll do it

I would love to see what you can do with it under the cold. You have to love Intel sending these nice Northwoods out as thier inexpensive chips.
If that one is very old it sure was a darn nice chip in it's day.

1.26 is the only CPU-Z version that is supported for varifying a clock rate. It can be done on the older versions but it sounds like its easier to cheat or something. Not saying your cheating but I believe he's just trying to check out your clock rate.

you know if its true that you reached a certain clock speed, dont risk damaging your hardware to please some sceptic.

It has nothing to do with scepticism! You have much to learn! and your attitude is about as bad... If you want to continue here you may want to start showing some respect, and quit making foolish comments about things you obviously don't understand...

pushing a 1.8 to 4Ghz+ on 1.9V is dangerous enough without asking someone to do it a 2nd time.

the version of CPU-Z he is using is acceptable for the age of the processor, a checksum is provided which can be checked to see if the speed is true.

no disrespect intended, just i've killed hardware myself and don't want to see another person go the same way.

Your post makes my point quite well.... the age of his processor has absolutely nothing to do with CPUZ, and IT IS NOT acceptable for a verified overclock. The Checksum is 100% useless on any version of CPUZ other then the latest, contact the author if you don't believe me. CPUZ frequency display can be faked 100% with a small rather well known program, which is a free download. The checksum will appear 100% authentic. The new version of CPUZ is not effected by this. Hence the request for a verifiable OC... He can do what he wants, but a verified Clock is a bit better then one that leaves qustion...

You could have saved me explaining this by doing a bit of research before posting something which your obvious lack of knowledge makes it pretty silly...

saayaa > ok I 'll try to contact rio71

northwood > since the high vcore is required for only 5 mn, it's not too dangerous.
I think it's less dangerous than trying to bench using this vcore

    thank you very much Flo

Now I won't get a bunch of PM's asking to verify your screenshot, and then have to explain why I cannot do so.

i just think its a bit silly that people demand all these different versions of software, doesn't it look a little pesimistic? looks as if no-one trusts anybody, which in itself is poor, attitude wise towards others.

anywayz i'm off, articles to write.

hope you get your hands on some more nice chips flo
