is that heatsink a good indicator of the A3 NB?
ohh... looks like it's an aftermarket heatsink... nevermind.
Where did you order it from?

Nice let us know how she runs!
I'm looking forward to your results. Hopefully this board works well. Good luck and keep us informed.

It works great for me![]()
i've had a 3500+ and a 6800GT pci-e and a 300GB maxtor ncq 16mb cache sitting on my freaking desk for 2 months already! i can't wait anymore! you think with a winnie i would really need that extra voltage. i'd have it on chilled water, with 1gb tccd gskill le. so i won't really benefit from the vddr voltage, but you think i would benefit from the vcore?
my last serious overclocking was done on an xp mobile when i pumped 2.1 volts at my cpu core. i take it stuff like that has changed in the a64 world.
Edit: how good is that 6phase power daughter card thing. And is that "robust graphics booster" like the MSI board thing in the other thread OPB started?
if i get some answers tonight i might order this thing. I'm really tired of waiting for the DFI.
i would pre-order the DFI from NCIX, but i keep timing out whever i go to checkout.

Dumo, can you please tell me what heatsink you have mounted on the nForce chipset please?
I just bought the Gigabyte nForce4 Ultra mobo and would like to remove the crap stock heatsink. Any links to where you bought or could buy said item would be appreciated.
Also, are those Vantec BGA ramsinks i see on the MOSFETS![]()
I had the same idea as you and bought a pack, did you use any Arctic Silver 5 for the TMI for the heatsink?
Also, did the heatsink mount ok?, did you modify it in anyway and is it secure etc?
Thank you.
Dumo, i am also going to buy an FX-55. Why did you drop the multiplier to 10x?, i am not very up on AMD/nForce and how to overclock.Originally Posted by Dumo
One would assume you could leave the multiplier at 13x, drop the HTT from 5x to 4x and then increase the FSB to 270...no?
I want to try and acheive 2.8Ghz with my FX-55 so any advice as to how to this would be appreciated, my memory is Corsair PC3200XLPT.
Looks like and Vantec IceberQ4 with the plastic top removed. Nice that it fits on the Gigabyte. Nothing fits on the ASUS SLI.

With F1 bios and set at 1.75V in bios, but somehow cpuid read 1.5V. I got a funny feelig that this board topped at 290Originally Posted by DoGMaN

well you are using 2x512MB ram, did you try 2x256?
or are FX's better with 1GB than winchesters.
right now on my neo4 i was able to screenshot 300, not very stable though. probably could have ran a superpi, but i wouldn't bet on it. i'm thinking its the mem controller though.

your cpu max on neo2 was near 3.4? what's the cpu max on the giga? 3150 stable sounds like what i got on my last fx. maybe you had the golden combo of board/ram/cpu with neo2. your mount etc is exactly the same?

Oh don't tell me that. That is not at all what I want to hear. 290 just won't cut it. Guess I'll have to test mine out and then scrap it if I hit a limit at 290Maybe a DFI in my future.

Anyone use the booster on the K8NXP know
whats the max on this board ? 3.4V? 3.5-3.6V ?
I am running @ 3.4V np's, but want to push it more for my bh-5.
Same here my Giga won't scale over 290!
I put 300 in bios and the board boot at 290, i try clockgen no effect too!
T tried the three available bios and nothing changed...
So i stuck at 290x9 1.45v with my 3000+!

Thats it for this giga board. Ordered neo4sli from neweeg today. Dont get me wrong though, this giga board have complete and exxelent features, but it just not for heavy oc![]()
i was very close to ordering the gigabyte. and it actually would't have mattered since my winnie isn't stable past 260 with 4 banks filled anyways.
