    3000+ & G.skill LA test

    Hi

I just got my new G.skill 2*256 LA to run with my 1 week old 3000+ 0.09. So far the testing looks good. nothing special, but ok for starters Unfortunatly my NEO2 is holding me back maxing out at 310......

I have another thread going in the AMD sektion about my 3000+, but i thought i would start a new one in the oc sektion, course of my new g.skill arriving

I will do some more testing later. Ram is at 2.7v

I had the cpu booting at 3 ghz, but i cant test it at that speed becourse of NEO2 unstability at those FSB

it says 440 on the ram by the way

    Welcome to Xtremesystems.....

3.1 for these ram seems like a lot to me(TCCD dont need that much). try them with 2.7/2.75v

i have read somewhere that neewer TCCD like voltage more than the older ones. but 3.1 still seems like a lot

Damn nice clocks, Gskill is really proving their worth, over and over. I'm honestly astounded - Those are very impressive timings, LA seems the way to go - I may have to get myself some.

    hi,
yes i was suprised, too but i noticed that more voltages gives me less/none errors in memtest. 2,75 is much too low for this ram @ my system.
    i run them everytime with 2,9 (1,5/2/2/1 @ 200) and it's stable and fast!

So....I have done some more testing with a little colder ambient temps (12 degrees c)

I tryed a multi of 8x, to be sure it was not the cpu maxing out, a divider for ram, and the conclusion is that my MB cant do more than 315 fsb stabil for sure.

Ram maxed out at 312 with 2,5-3-3-10 1:1 1T 2.75v. More volt did not help anything. with 2.5-4-4-10 i could do 320, but as said before my mb is not stable ther. But i dont realy care how high they will go with those timings.....i stick to 2.5-3-3-10

So all together i am pretty happy with my result, RAM and mobo match perfect together. MB maxes at 315 and ram at 312 with good timings....

The only sad thing is that i did not get to see how far the CPU would go. I will have to get a better mobo that can do higher FSB for that

Anyway...here are some final screenies from my G.skill 2*256LA / 3000+ 0450SPMW / MSI NEO2....END OF TEST. The chip will either be sold, or end up in a 2.nd gaming rig

Going back to my FX-55 setup soon. As i said from the beginning this 3000+ was just a temp chip to keep me company until my FX comes back

I hope to be back with some nice water results with g.skill and fx-55

    Thank you !!!

with that screens of 0450 winchester's i'm thinking to change my DFI and 3000+ s754 @2500 1.5v for a AGP based mobo (or PCI-e, but i don't want to change my 6600GT..., if it's pci-e will be DFI for sure) and a winchester like that ones...

Are yours stabil at 3ghz, or just for screenie ?????if stabil......can you run some tests??????

Wow dude.. 3 Ghz on _plain_ water?! Try different bios -> Neo2 should do 330 HTT easily.
