Will a DD Maze 4 GPU fit on a PNY 6800GT??

MSI K9N4 SLI-F / AM2 6000+ / OCZ Gold PC6400 2x1GB + A-DATA 2x1GB = 3.25GB with PAE Enabled XP Pro
EVGA 8800GTS 320MB / Auzentech Xplosion / 200GB Maxtor ATA133 / COOLER MASTER RC-690 / Scythe SCNJ-1100P / Antec 650w Trio Power
i think not. not sure though, but afaik the 6xxx cards have new mounting holes...
The mounting holes are fine, but the ramsinks on my Gainward 6800GT get in the way, they arent the garden variety memsinks tho so i'm not sure how that applies to the PNY, if you can get around the memsinks then it should be fine![]()
Short Answer: no. I got screwed having to get that expensive 6800 block from DD because the MAZE4 GPU block did not fit my eVGA 6800GT. But, with some modding, maybe you could get it to fit, although maybe I don't really suggest it.
Hail to extreme cooling!
moosturdsoed, atleast u got a sweet water block for it. too bad it costs 100 bucks.. thats why im going with x800. i can use my maze4 without problems and dont need ramsinks.
I was going to buy a 6800 Ultra, but couldn't afford it because I had to buy the 6800 waterblock. Thus, I have a 6800GT instead, and it is faster than a mildly overclocked 6800 Ultra with the danger den block, but I agree that danger den is really screwing people with higher and higher prices. It's too much for just damn cooling, I say!![]()
Hail to extreme cooling!
its not only the prices... the designs arent really kicking it... its a bit suspicious that they always release new blocks shortly after somebody else made a new design
and the 6800 block... thats a joke...
it would cost 5$ to machine a basic cold plate for the 6800 that touches the memory and the gpu. then just attach your current waterblock on the cold plate, or use a maze4 for 30$ or some other cheap block and you get almost the same cooling performence for less than half of the money.
and tbh, i dont even think cooling the memory like that is helping at all... some b4d4ss copper ramsinks for 15$ and a silent 80mm fan for 5$ will probably result in the same memory overclock... and that way you dont risk your card braking off and falling down with almost 1kilo of copper and other stuff stuck to it![]()
saaya very true. the ram really doenst need to be cooled for the most part. unles your volt modding it, its usually not an issue. and if you want to be crazy about it, some ramsinks would be plenty.
And as far as i know the maze 4 will work on the 6800 cards.... correct me if im wrong.
yea sorry for reviving an old thread, but what exactly gets in the way? i'm not exactly wanting to buy a new block for my 6800gt, but if i must, then it will be the swifty block as that does fit the 6800's.

I emailed Danger den to ask if there maze4 block would fit my PNY6800nu and there answer was no. But I was curious and my card has the perfect mounting holes and went on perfect. Im not sure if there is much of a difference in the pcb layout between the two.
so actually have the block already? well... if it fits its fine.Originally Posted by specialblend218
