Yeah I know - I'm one of them Glorfy is my alter ego I'd change my name here if I could. It seems that there is more than one A8N SLI board out there, or maybe there is some set up issue that we're missing?

    Hi guys,

From my experience using clockgen with my A8N-SLI I have seen clockgen incrementing my pci bus when I slide the htt slider and I have seen clockgen not incrementing (staying at 33.33) my pci bus when I slide the htt slider.

It seems that If I boot at stock settings into windows and try to increment the htt in clockgen my pci bus doesnt lock.

If, on the other hand, make a small overclock in the bios, lets say 12x208, then it seems that It locks my pci bus in clockgen.

    This is all pretty weird.

I think it is staging the pci bus in various increments somehow from what I have read.

YOU sir are a genius! :hug :kiss

Hahahahaha I was having so many issues with setting an O/C in the bios I didn't even think of this! I set the FSB to 201 in the bios, and it shows this:

DAMN! I was a bit premature! Although it says that its locked, I'm getting programs crashing, mozilla exiting bsods etc at 10X240. I'm sure all my components are good for more than that! I'll do some more testing! But thanks anyway!

    Hi,

I found that if you set you HTT to 4x or 3x in the bios it doesnt save youre settings in windows.

I use Ntune to modify the HTT in windows to 3 or 4 x.

Try that if you havnt already.

    HI,

Well I just tried the beta bios 1003-0003 and it partially corrected the LTD problem.

I really dont understand the crappy Asus bios. Now with this beta, the HTT works, but when I try to boot at lets say 12x208 I save and exit bios and on the post it says that my ram clock is 202?? Whats up with that. When I arrive into windows, everything is ok and my cpu is at 12x208.

I am really fed-up with this boards bios.

I think I wont try any more overcloking until Asus makes available a completly working bios.

Doesn't clockgen works only for a precise model either MSI xx or ASUS xx?

hello all , i ve used clockgen NF4 on the K8NXP-SLI and it work fine , but the only problem is i can't push more than 6 Mhz FSB at once time , if i don't i have a freeze.
Do you have this problem , or i've a wrong setting ?

If I went too far too fast on my GB Ultra I experienced the same thing with the NF3 clockgen.

yes but here , too far too fast is exactly 7Mhz FSB and freeeeeze
    With Clkgen NF3 and my K8NSNXP 939 i could do 201->270 easily.
