OCZ VX vs OCZ plat rev2

Note, the rev2 seems to have better timings at lower voltage, and I dont have a DDR booster.

keep in mind i have stock air cooling on a 3500+ Winchester. So I won't be needing to go over 220-230.

So which would yeild better results, the VX with the booster? or the rev2?

Any opinions would be helpful. thanks

if u dont need to go over 230, u might as well get a cheaper ram. Both of these 2 would satisfy wot ur asking. but if u dont have a booster the VX is losing the best of its performance, so get the rev. 2

Go for the Rev. 2 since you don't have a booster.

I'd go after the VX, tight timings and works well up to about 250 or so. Since all you need is 230 than get the VX, besides you can always drop the multi and get a higher FSB and take the RAM up some more

How's this: if you don't mind buying a Booster or doing a volt mod, get the VX. Otherwise, get the Plat Rev. 2.

3500+ on air, mine does 250Mhz ish, also, you can drop multi down and hit pretty much any fsb you want. If an air cooled rig , just cos of amount of fans for cooling booster and mem using high voltage and cos that will creat heat and affect your air cooled cpu more. I'd go tccd, with a nf3/4 board should be fairly easy to max out the ram and have a pretty fast rig. though i have no idea what cost diff between them is.

    right now i'm on a air cooled giga nf4 , 3200 winchester @ 275Mhz 9x multi 2.5,3,3,10. Cpu seemed to crap out around 2.5ish.
