I mounted a SLK600 from Thermalright on the GPU/VPU with two cableties and made some heavy duty cobber/alu sinks for the RAM (cut up an old P4 in-a-box heatsink).

    Happy modding

    Nice work there bro.

I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.

That is some nice cooling there on that card man. I think I might have to do that to my old 9800 Pro I have. What are your high core clocks on that card?

    Thanks

Highst benchable is 459mhz on the core. 24/7 I run it at 418mhz. I'm afraid my card isn't a very good clocker

It was great fun modding it though

isn't that cooling on your mem a bit overkill? The memory (samsung stuff) on the 9800 cards doesn't get that hot really TBH

Overkill is what XS is all about, after all.

Why overclock at all? Your 3400+ at stock speed should be more than adequate for any game you might want to play.

Do you think I'd benefit from a voltmod? My soldering iron should be here tomorrow My current max is 480mhz core and 378mhz mem, that is with a cold room temp

i did my mods with smd grabber.
    vgpu @ 1.8v and vmem @ 3.2v
before mods i could do 480/370 with silencer.
    after about 505-510/391 artifact free.
if its a cold day i can do 515/400.
the vga silencer is really great.

but the smd grabber on the vmem mod broke so i'm currently running without a vmem mod.

Haha tell my roomate that when I have the window open and box fan on when its 35F outside. He didn't seem to understand getting over 21k in 3dmark01 was important to me .

Also damn Comment that cooling setup is awesome, that gives me a nice idea. My card isn't great but for stock cooling it can hit 430mhz core perfectly fine. I was just going to get a vga silencer but Comments setup just looks so much cooler .

A little BIOS, 3D and OS tweaking should give you better bench results. Just remember that, at the end of the day, what counts is performance in real virtual life games.

    Happy tweaking
