dude... I'm sure the people who get the Asus SLI now (considering it's priced gouged up the wazoo) will be able to get the MSI later on. Everyone just wants a piece of the action that's all....

Ditto on that. I think it will be difficult to get all the parts to make an SLI rig, so if anything SLI is available, it's bought. If the ASUS is available now, we get the ASUS. Then, if the MSI proves better, and is available, then that will be the board to replace the ASUS.

As for the price gouge, the motherboard is peanuts compared to the pad added to the SLI capable video cards. I got my ASUS for $250 shipped, which I think is not too bad. Working on the cards now. That will be the biggest step, $1300 worth of video cards for one PC.

    Spinboy,

The link seems to be dead. Could you post a working one please?

It seems like the A8N-SLI only hits somewhere around 250 HTT, and that sucks. Will that problem be fixed with another bios version or will we just have to deal with it?

    Hows it going for me?

Well heres hoping its alright to post this in this thread

    System specs.

    Asus A8N - SLI
    Amd 3500+ 90nm
    2XLeadtek 6800GT Pci-e (not available now!)

Well, I've had this board installed for 24hours now! So how is it you ask?
How go the benchmarks? Overclocking? Enough to say oh dear! Asus seem to have
let an unfinished product out of the door again!Doh!

Set up was a nightmare, I no longer have a RAID array due to it not liking my
USB FDD, and no I didn't back anything up before reinstalling, thank you very
much for asking! Until today I was having to use a 'live' linux CD to use the computer at all!

Changing most of the settings in the bios results in the system hanging on reboot,
with the only option being to reset the RTC, which you can hardly get to due to 2X2 graphichs
cards in the way! I've tried 3 different bioses, including the latest beta, all with the same
result. This happens when you try to disable the PEG link, when you enable fan control(!),
when you set overclocking to *standard*, I could go on - there are some parts that work, but
after pulling the battery out 6 times I'm fed up of exploring!

So, you can boot at default settings so hows you 3dmark score? Urrrr, haven't got one yet!
Hangs part way through the first test on 03, and on the second test 05 (Return does manage about
50fps). I've tried 2 sets of drivers so far 67.20 and 67.22. Same results with both! Tried to
overclock the GPU and mem a little bit.. wouldn't have it, though after a bit of rewiring it
    O/Ced to 375/1040 - which is very poor, I'm sure you'll admit!

Well, thats enough of a downer for now! I'm still glad I got into the game early, hehe -the
    voyage into the unknown huh?

Anyone got anything to say? I have a 'spare' board arriving 12/20, but unsure whether to waste
my time trying it! RMA? Still, at least I can use my £120 MB, and £600 of graphics cards
    to 'surf the net'
