    New 2400mhz FX55???????

Has anyone heard that AMD are bringing out a new version of the FX55 which runs at 2400mhz and supposedly runs cooler????

I can only think of this being a 0.09nm version which is as powerful at 2400mhz as it's predesessor at 2600mhz.

    Can someone confirm this please?

Never heard about a 2.4ghz FX-55, future or present. But thank you for making this thread, as the suggestion alone, was enough for my girlfriend, to okay purchase of a FX-55 next week, really!

Best of both worlds for me. Best 754(3700+) and soon 939 in my hands. I'll have to wait for DFI SLI, though. I am not going to buy any of those POS s939 boards out now, as they simply don't meet the standards I want, since I have grown acustomed to being spoiled by DFI' UT board

Yeah, it is great. Congrats with your own

I might just cave in and get a MSI Neo2(it ain't that bad, I guess), so I can actually make it run. My Vapo LS is in non-use atm, and it would be kinda sad looking at the FX-55 chip, also without it being used - until SLI arrives(months away from release AFAIK)

    I am thinking, FX-55 + MSI Neo2 + Vapo LS + VX RAM + Boster + my 'old' 6800GT GS + new aircooling (lots of Delta 120) = :banana4:

Yeah, she a diamond to me, no doubt there. We have been together for almost 7 years now, and she into OC, hardcore gaming etc... Perfect, at least for me. On EVERY level, she is everything, I could ever hope for, really

She'll get the 3700+ rig aircooled all for herself to her HL2 MP, DC++, endless forums/BBS etc. and I'll have the FX-55 cooled with LS for OC. But that'll take some more money(extra screen etc.) than we have allocated for now. Spring time and that should be settled. I think, I'll retire the 3700+ when I get the FX-55, so the FX can run right away. I love my 3700+, but FX-55 ... It just doesn't compare

I hope I can do the 3.5ghz screenshot and your words honor. That'll be sweet. I think, this 6800GT GS, will climb a "few" places on the ORB '01 6800GT ladder with the FX-55 rig

If I had the money for a LS on top of the cost of the FX-55 + mobo, then I think I wouldn't buy one. AFAIK NV40 cards don't like vapor phase. Funny enough, the FX-55 cost exactly as much as the LS: 6000kr / ~$1000 on edbpriser.dk

After the $4000 spending spree on the s754 rig, I'll be contend with "just" the FX-55 and the Neo2

Bias_hjorth - Yeah, you know. If I had to that kind of money to spend, though, a PM to Chilly1 about some cascade fun, would have been send within nanoseconds

Snowman89 - Yeah, the 3700+ rig as it is, is very good. 3ghz is sweet with a Clawhammer. 4-5 months ago, I figured I would only spend $1000 upgrading from my P4C 3.2ghz + 9700P, but it kinda went outta hand from there

you gotta find me a girlfriend that likes computers or goldfish or otherwise has alot in common with me. that and I looooooove curves never heard of a 2.4GHz fx55 in fact 90nm fx is supposed to be a fx57 at 2.8GHz in mid 2005. How itll respond to the cold is anyones guess but this could spell the end of xtreme cooling if it has the cold issues like 90nm winchesters
