Nice work Kunaak,
I never really liked 3DMark 03 & 05 anyway, and yeah we need a new Pi program. Maybe we can talk Code Red into that one
To anyone: programmers or members.
if you have a benchmark you want tested, or know of a benchmark I should test, please PM me, or tell me about it here.
Links to the benchmark are nice
How sad

Darn... Even i can cheat in pifast... Didnt even use a program... Kunaak plz remove PIfast from they grey zone... Its easier to cheat in pifast than in 3dmark03 with psNull
my granny could do it
Edit: Couldnt Frank make CPU-Z read Mhz like clockgen does? Through the hardware?

MMmmmmm... bad.
Very... This program is easier to cheat than 3dmark05 aquamark and everything else... Pifast is the most cheatable program to date IMO... Hehe...Originally Posted by charlie

damn this sucks. Pifast was my favourite CPU benchmark. Soon there wont be any reliable benchies leftOriginally Posted by Mini

wow that really sucks that it has come to this
can you see the light? is it shining too bright? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel, i know i do, i know its true.
no.Originally Posted by Mini
clockgen reads the PLL of the motherboard.
to do it like that, he would have to have a specific version of CPUZ for everyboard out there.
just like clockgen doesn't work on most older motherboards and such.
i dont think anyone will understand the OC cheaters, just like people dont understand the aimbotters in online gaming.
Yeah seems crazy to me to cheat a benchmark. I mean i would still know that my ocing is not good.
What about hexing? It's not hard to create a table file (I'll bet most stuff isn't even encrypted to that, very basic, point) and just hex something to report any type of result you want. Even if programs have hash sanity checks you can just replace the "sane" hash with your own. It shouldn't be any harder than cracking a games copy protection.
You basicly need to trust people, If macci comes out with a 3.8GHz FX55 than there is no problem, if "Mr. 5 posts" comes out with it than you need to start asking for lots of pictures of the cooling, a variety of benchamarks, maybe even a movie of a benching session.

For those of you about to post:
I dont see how PiFast is easy to fake? obviously you can make the first part of the test time show whatever you want but its so easy to spot if one is cheating it that way. You'd need to manipulate all the test times (series, division, InvSqrt, final huge) in order to make it look real and that obviously can't be done w/ 'the easy cheat'.
All you need to do is set the display time to the acctual time * .95. It would make everything 5% faster.
For those of you about to post:
That would always work, only a question of time and tools, unless heavy realtime encryption is used, which would strain the CPU anyways and influence the benchmark. I think, you'll need to restructure the entire PC platform to avoid cheating in the end.Originally Posted by craig588
Movie can be faked too, with relative ease. What the lens captures/eyes sees, the mind believes...
This thread is awesome Kunaak.
Like in golf and benching, cheaters only cheat themselves. Thankfully, most cheaters aren't smart/good enough to go undetected.
So I see the speed hacking of games has come to benchmarks. :\ Sux
At least there are people trying to stop it. Thanks... Game companys seem to not care
Main Comp (Win 7): ASUS R4E, i7-3930k @ 4.9GHz, G.Skill Ripjaw Z 4x4GB @ 2133MHz, ATI 6950flash/6970 Xfire, Custom Watercooling
3x Asus VW246H eyefinity; Polk Audio Monitor 40's (L,R), CS10 (C), Klipsch KG^4 (S), Sony STR-DA1000ES; all in a custom built desk
Server: (Ubuntu 11.04) i7-920 @ 3.8GHz, 24GB G.Skill
Sure you can... As is written just under your post... i could even do it manually... Would probably require a little more time and patience... But im sure i could... Just run a standard pifast and if i decide to cut away 10% of the time i just do thatOriginally Posted by macci
Pifast is the easiest program to cheat in as you dont even need another program to do it

some people need to stop talking about how to fake pi fast benchmarks.
I've seen almost everything you need to know, other then straight out telling how to do it....
on a side note, CPUZ 1,26, the best cheat free version of any CPU reading program we know of, is out.
that sound realy goodOriginally Posted by Kunaak

You mention all these seemingly complicated ways to cheat, when all you need is Photoshop.. seems kinda obvious. In this case, M$ Paint can do this as well...
