    For some reason I am having a problem surpassing the 145FSB. The SS shows a higher than stock voltage but it runs at this speed with stock voltage, I was just trying some things to get passed this 145FSB issue I am having..

    Well since it´s a mobile cpu with speedstep...shouldn´t the multis be unlocked..?? Aleast downwards....otherwise I can´t se how it should be able to change clock dynamicly..??

    It would be a sweet SFF or HTPC! The performance just don't look to be there. At least in SuperPi, I got 35sec with my A64 at 2.45ghz.

    dangg... with extreme cooling, a few volts, and a high fsb this cpu is awesome! it has alot better clock cycles than the p4 (more similiar to A64) but it overclocks better than an A64!

    Is it even possible to build a laptop buying parts retail? I'd build one from Dothan real quick if I could.

    For the most part yes. Aopen and Asus both sell a barebones kit. Video is intergrated you choose wisely. All can be picked up at the egg.

    Kunaak, its all about the mem speed on these things Also I haven't done a single tweak for the OS yet.
    that unmodded time of 35sec @2.4G is (like I mentioned) very slow considering the CPU clocks.

    Here is a little better run after the Vdimm mod:
    33sec @ 2273MHz

    hmm, so it looks like the CPU needs bandwidth more then actual CPU speed more then anything.

    so macci... what kinda potential do you see in these chips, compared to some of the other hardware you been playing with?

    wow, looks like the CPU can really perform well if you can just hit the magic spot with the RAM...hmm...more benchies please =)...btw, any chance you can show the RAM frequency settings? tnx...

    Spi1M @ 2406MHz/214RAM => 32sec
    also passed at 2445MHz but the result was the same. 2450MHz was too much for the chip w/ default voltage and the tiny cooler

    Its a beast in 3DMark2001SE Lobby Low I must say - the peak FPS you see at the beginning of the test is like 640ish w/ 2.8GHz winny (DC RAM @ 250+), FX55 @ 2.77G (DC RAM +250MHz) hits around 660-675FPS - both w/ highly overclocked video.
    Dothan at 2.4GHz (SC RAM at 213MHz) w/ stock video card hits an amazing peak FPS of 730FPS
    Too bad that its very slow for the drago tests and also clearly behind in Nature. Guess thats where the lack of mem bandwidth shows the most.
    Overall 3DMark2001SE default @ 2.4GHz (213RAM) w/ stock X800XT PE => 27721

    Mark03 looks a bit better..

    Wow! If it is indeed so mem-hungry, wouldn't it benefit quite a bit from dual channel, if such a thing was possible with the chipset..

    I think Nvidia should make a chipset for this thing!
