It's the bent black one that's the problem.
I see someone over at the MSI forums fit one, and he had awfull temps. (seen the same on amdmb.com forums as well)
It was only when someone posted some pics here (scroll down for the smaller ones as those are huge) that the problem became obvious.
    thermalright say..

K8N Neo2 Platinum Not Compatible (caps mechanically obstruct pipe.)

I haven't fitted one myself, but a few have and by bending that cap they get good results.
It just depends on how you feel about bending that cap I suppose.

As this cooler has like a clip fit, you don't need anything leaning it to one side (like a cap) else it won't do the job well at all.

If it leans or is obstructed, it performs worse than a stock cooler according to those the didn't see offending cap.

When asked about the space for the ram, this is the reply from one of the guys who fitted one (damn forums that don't allow links to posts)

Well with my Corsair 3200XLPT theres between 1cm and 2cm of space between the ram and heatsink. It would be hard for me to take the ram out that are in slots 1 and 2 but once in there theres no problem.

Just got my Neo2 from zipzoomfly yesterday. If i remember correctly, after removing HSF for AS5,... the chip rev was 0440A2.
So far, this board is rocking compared to my last ty Neo2 that I gave up for an even tier A8V.

Havn''t had too much play time, but currently running 3500+ NC @ 2805(11x267, 2.5-3-3-7-1t) prime stable with vapoLS, OCZ 3200 Plat REV2 @ 267Mhz. Can go up to 10.5x280 but won't prime.

Threw in my bh6 and DDR booster and got a nice 250Mhz 2-2-2-5-1t @ 3.5v 1:1, could run a couple benchies, but only primed @ 240, which is similar to other boards I've had it on. The OCZ TCCD(with "new" style heatspreaders, thinkin the new TCCD rev?), will do 240 2-2-2-5-1t w/ 3.4v from the booster, but only benchable. Booster was working GREAT up to 3.7v, which was the highest I tried

Kinda likin this board so far. Traded a 3500+ winny to a friend for a NC, not able to get it to work right with vapo on A8V. Now want the winny back! hearing these boards might work with them.

weird this OCZ platRev2 shows diff SPD's in CPUz. One is correct - OCZ PC3200PLATREV2. other is AMD PC4000?? . Could it be the board, or this RAM?? It is a Dual Channel kit??

Also, couldn't seem to OC my 6800Ultra as high with this board at first. Was getting "PAUSING" in 3d, for up to 10 sec, then "unpause". disabled fast writes(which lowers 3dmarks for me) and tweaked with AGP aperture seems to have fixed this. still a few mhz under my previous stable high(497/1323) with every other board the cards been in. hmmm, any suggestions??
    BTW

    11x267 = 2937mhz, not 2805mhz.

2805 / 267 = 10.5, so im guessing your running at 10.5 x 267? your ram would be running at 255mhz, even though it says 267mhz. im guessing you havnt heard of the .5 multi bug?

    simple explanation:
with every half multi, 8.5, 9.5, etc... the memory actually runs at a speed lesser then the HTT. you round your multi up, and divide the cpu speed, by that rounded number.

    example:
    cpu is at 10.5 x 267htt = 2805mhz.
10.5 rounded up is 11. er... i guess that wasnt really necessary.
    2805 / 11 = 255.

so your memory would be running at 255mhz, NOT 267mhz.

can you give us a screenshot of the SPD timings in cpu-z? i'd like to see what your talking about.

for the 6800u, thats already an amaizingly high clock... while you say the fastwrite decreases your 3dmark score, i've seen it suggested that you disable it(on many motherboards), i suppose just for stabibility? i really dont know...

    Oops, yeah, that's what I meant. 10.5..

There was a recent thread where someomne hand picked through some 0440 taiwans and there was one 0442 korea and the Korea one still clocked higher than the 0440 taiwan, but that was only one sample. I also got a 0440 taiwan.

Talking Okay This will replace the 939 ultracrap that is going back

the gigabyte has lots of settings, but not worth anything if they all reset from 239->240 FSB

    Better MSI + 3500 Winnie = mine:

Is there any hope for a K0409xxxxxx-one? So far the best I got out of it with a 3500+ NC is 280x9 (HTT multi = 3x). It has a pair of G.Skill mem plugged in, so I don't think that my memory is the bottleneck...

If I am right, it should be 1.3b6, but now I feel 1.37moded is the best
1.41 is the fix of those who have hard time to get the higher fsb.
