K8n Neo2 Chip: 0438A2 Made in Taiwan:
Date:NOV 2004 released, nothing new
Bios: 1.37 Moded
What kind of improvement?
well, as usual, I need to set vddr as 2.65 to run DDR570 2.5-3-3-7 to pass memtest std test
now, use only 2.5v
(HTT=3x)

Please do me a favour and see if that board runs well with 4 sticks of RAM in it.
This signature does not exist.
<---I love that smiley
The sticker on the board says made in china.... But you said it was made in taiwan.. Im confused.. Or are you just refering to the nf3 chip itself...
Onepagebook, what PSU are you using ???

Thats weird mine is a 0439A2 Korea and the serial num is a 0410XXXXX
Some user reported better BH-x performance with the new version can you confirm that?
Do you have your winchester to check if the subzero bug is still there?
if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
you have to overclock.
Basically, I would say October and November boards are all good.Originally Posted by esdee

Damn OPB
you mean no no-reboot when the winch is COLD?
Please if you have the time check that bh-x performance
Thanks
/EDIT I have the impression that the Chipset is printed upside down

WOW... just wow. I cant beleive my eyes! My Abit Av8 sucks and dissapointing. Do you know any store where I can order for those new MSI board and get the new release? I check newegg yesterday and all their MSI NF3 Neo2 board are sold out. I guess they should be getting the new revision soon. Does anyone know how I can work around the MSI NF3 Neo2 board to get Thermalright XP-120 heatsink to fit on it. I can't do away with my XP-120 bcos of it's cool and quite operation but I also need this MSI badly. Thermalright mentioned that the backplate obstruct the XP-120 mounting. Unfortuntly I have already lapped the XP-120 and cannot return it for exchange for XP-90. Any help will be appreciated at this time.Originally Posted by Onepagebook

What type of cooling are you using? Vapo LS or what. That CPU temp (41C) is a bit high for Vapo LS, so I'm wondering what type of cooling you were using.

The problem I thought with the XP-120 is the cap.Thermalright mentioned that the backplate obstruct the XP-120 mounting. Unfortuntly I have already lapped the XP-120 and cannot return it for exchange for XP-90.
I reckon you have 2 choices.
Either bend the cap, or squash the offending pipe (or cut a bit out of it)
Avatar supplied by Major Slaughters sister
It's not a good idea to start cutting heatpipes
Bending or replacing the cap (with another one or at different orientation) might be a good idea.
Thanks for that nice pic. I don't want to squash the pipe, as i may want to sell it on ebay anytime later. Which cap are you talking about. Do you mean the MB backplate or some capacitors on it. Did you actually fit XP-120 on your MSI board or what? Please give me more details on the work around if so. Does XP-120 block any of your memory DIMMs?Originally Posted by split

the reading temp from MSI is ALWAYS wrong.
Thanks, the temperature reading is a big problem on all S939 MB. ASUS seems to do a better job on this area though. I'm using an AXP-2500+ and the PC probe seems to work pretty good on the ASUS Nforce2 A7N8X-E Deluxe MB.

excellent 3d bench !!! volts is not a problem... on my NF2 Infinity i was showing my BH-5 up to 3.9v with 120mm fan blowing on mems... but that was vdimm taken from 5v rail... Neo2 takes it from 3.3v so having 4v rail is no joke.... maybe i should get a booster to play with as soon as i get Neo2/Winnie...
thanx for screenies....
