OCZ 3200 Plat DEFINATELY Sammy 431

Well, I have some OCZ 3200 Plat rev2 that seems to scale very well on my MSI Neo, so I decided to pop off the spreader and take a peek!

Samsung 431! high voltage loving versions of TCCD!

I ordered a DFI Lanparty and have the 4v beta bios, and I will feed them up to 3.6v(sammy specifications) and post results, I get the board monday/tuesday

Definately good news for people who have bought OCZ recently!
    Let the OC'ing begin!

I hope it is fact because I'm going to be buying some next week. If it dosn't happen then oh well. The problem is that i won't know until a few months from now because I am waiting to uprade my old mobo. DFI pro 875 rev.A! Before all the recent glory . Which brings me to my question, dosn't a computer run smoother at one gig then 512, I know doom for me runs to the point of me waiting for next week before I play it again.Sorry for the rambling but this wine is tasting better by the minute

Ocz has tccd from 440 also. both dates have mixed results. So don't get your hopes up. Just hope to get lucky.

I grabbed the bottoms and peeled them apart, they were actually barely on they make almost no contact with the ram at all

It kinda hurt my fingers a little but its doable, just bend it back, and then poke the ram out with another finger, oh and I forgot my pic!

From what I read, 431 does not guarantee you a 'volt loving' TCCD stick...

Most seem to be 431, i bet mine are 431, i don't care, didn't buy this RAM to run high 2-2-2-x speeds in the first place.

I doubt TCCD will ever match BH-5 with 2-2-2-x settings.

DDR600 at 2,5-3-3-7 is what i want from it!

Guys , There is no specific week code that loves high voltage , Just newer chips in general , for example I have tested 440 , 431 , 430 , 441 all have a certain percentage that like voltage.

    Just a note.

ive got ocz plat rev2 here and have tried and tried to hit 275 @ 2.5-4-3-10 1t but it would error out (@ 2.85vdim) so right now its running 275 2.5-4-4-10 and im going to try an ocz booster to see if it helps.....i did notice that the higher the volts went the less errors i got so maybe im lucky *fingers crossed*

if its erroring out in memtest after a certain period of time it maybe overheating ( these Samsung chips seem to get very hot )

Well he asked how he can do it without voiding the warrenty. He would be voiding it by taking them off duh. You could keep the sticker, and just put it back on and trick them, but your warrenty would have been voiding, they just wouldn't know that.

Anyways, how do these voltage loving tccd sticks fair? I havn't kept up with tccd since I have BH-5 I just know they don't like voltage, and you can get ddr600 out of them with really slack timings.

So with the ones that love voltage, say on average, how much volts gives you what speed at 2-2-2?

Also for anyone that cares, best way I found to take the heatspreaders off is this:

Take a really sharp knife with a thin point and just twist it under the clips, then wiggle it back and forth untill you get the clips off. After that take something that is sturdy yet not too big (phillips head works good) And just put it under the heatspreader and twist it sideways, then do that along the sides. Do not be forceful, you do not want to break anything. Most likely your heatspreaders will be a little bent after this, but did you really want to keep them? If you need to you can still put them back on though.

IMHO the spreaders on the OCZ are too good to remove.

If you want to know if your RAM will do high 2-2-2-x speeds at high voltage why not shove 3.5V up it's bum and try?
431 or any other week is no guarantee for high 2-2-2-x speeds from what i've read.

Why is everyone suddenly so crazy about this 2-2-2-x thing?
There 's plenty of BH-5 for sale lately on ebay that will do 2-2-2-x with some voltage.

    Or am i missing something?

yeah, bh-5 is great but I'm wondering, I'm not going to buy any even if it is but I'm just wondering, like bh-5 most can get around ddr500 with 2-2-2-5 timings pretty easily with enougn volts. How good will this volt loving tccd do?I know it can't get ddr600 with 2-2-2, but... tha'd be nice. Untill we can get that we gotta take what we can get.
