Hey OPP! What's up With the Kingston?

    OPP...

You wetted my appetite with the snippit about the Kingston...

My Problem is this.... I'm really hot on my new ASUS A7N8X Mobo... And I want to put some good RAM, and a New XP2700 I'm getting this Weekend...

Problem, I have 1 Stick of 512mg.XMS3500C2... I have to use 2 Dimms for the Dual Channel.... So I have to either buy one more of the Corsair, Or Get 2 of the New Kingston... If the Kingston is better... I'd rather buy it now.. And not waste the $ on another Corsair... Cause I'll only wind up buying 2 of the Kingstons.. Later....

I have till tonight to order the RAM to get it by the Weekend... So please tell me what's up GURU!

    Thanks, Royd

The stuff is great, problem is I have't tryed it on an AMD system. Let me see how High it will do with 2-5-2-2 on this BE7.

I ran out of cpu for it's max Overclock, it does 245Mhz no problem.

    Your Awesome Man,

Thanks for the quick reply... I'll be waiting here with my finger on the Submit button..... But I won't make a move till I hear from you...

And you know I just didn't get that great of result with the XMS... And It needs 3.25v to get the most out of it... And like Mr Icee always says a ton of meticulous break- in...

So being that for now the board only had 2.85 volt for the Mem... Maybe I'd be better off with the KM... At least until I can get a mod done.. Then again.. Don't know if you can get 3.25v.

    Thanks Man,

So you want it tested at 2.85 then?? Right now its doing 225 max timings at 3.0v. I'll drop the volts and see if stays at 225

Damn, this stuff will make for a great review.
I droped the volts to 2.88 and I'm still holding 225 Mhz Max timings.

    OPP,

Will it handle as aggresive timings as the Corsair?

    Corsiar spec's the XMS Higher... I think CAS 2- 3-3-7 1t

    The KingMax is spec'd @ 2 4-4-8 1t

You can go as high as you want until you fry something. I've done 3.3 w/o any prob. I don't feel like frying $440 worth of DDR though. :P

To all.... I changed the title of the first post... But it did not change it on the forums... If there is a way... I don't know how.... Sorry for the confusion...

Sys... That's cool about getting 3.3v... I don't think the Kingston will need that much... I looked for your post on AMD, but could not find anything.. If you could put up a link...

I don't know what the chips are... I should have 2 512mg sticks by Friday... I don't think you can pull those speaders off... So maybe OPP doesn't know either...

I'll put up some pictures of where to mod it in a bit. I'll do it right now actually. Will post it in the Xtreme Mobo Voltage Mod forum.

OPP I really would like to see what that ram will do on an AMD system, when you put it in your AMD box, please let us know how it does compared to the XMS 3500 , as I am about to order some, and I figure who better to ask, knowing that when you do test it, you are going to push it hard enough to kick the snot out of it.

    Thx.

I saw the New Kingston DDR 3500 at newegg.com last night but I didn't pay much attention to it, I never knew they made DDR I always saw them selling Rambus.

but, more options equal better prices, and if the stuff is as good as you say, I may have to give some a try

    Muzz,

Sorry but it will be a while before I get a AMD running. The Corsair did max timings on the KD7 up past 210. I see no reason this Kingston wouldn't do it seeing how far it went with the BE7 max timings.

Yeah, but you know how that go's , on one platform = great, another= not so great......... I agree it SHOULD, but since your the only one I knew that had any, and beat it senseless already, I figured I'd ask.

EDIT: You did mean Kingston correct? heheheh we just can't seem to get it right.. probably because we associate Kingmax with DDR, not kingston.

No problem bro, Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know of this stuff being reviewed????? Gonna have to start looking

Just thought I would point that out . And anyone who's a moderator for the forum can change the thread title, I can't since I can't moderate this one .

Does look like some pretty sweet RAM though.
