A-Data = Gskill killer?

I've ordered components to my new system:

AMD A64 Winchester 3500+
2x 512Mb DDR A-Data pc4800
MSI NEO2 Plat.
CM Stacker

The winchester is temp. for the FX... jst waiting for more cash . It will be aircooled when it arrives, going for a Lightspeed after newyear. Shouldn't the A-Data PC4800 be a potential GSkill killer? Just wondering if anyone here has good experience with it? I'll be posting results when I've tortured my rig later this week...

I've tried the Adata DDR600 2x512MB (single stick kit) and the result was not that great. They can barely run the rated speed in single channel but definitely not even DDR520 in dual channel mode. Meanwhile, GSkill 2x512MB is doing great on exactly the same system at DDR560 dual channel mode.

It doesnt matter who's TCCD's you get currently as the modules will hit ~ 285FSB @ spd on average without heavy voltage.

they do from 250 to 300fsb, but I see alot of them usually hit ddr533 speeds, this is 266fsb at 2.5-3-3-7 too. you could run 3-4-4-8 for even higher but youll gain nothing with such loose timings

so far i've come across 3 different brands of tccd. patriot xbl, gskill, and PQI. So far all of them have done DDR550@2.5-3-3-7 w/ 2.7v. however my patriot xbl seems to be the cheapest and better clocking of the three.

i'll be picking up some corsair XL's and ocz plat rev2's hopefully soon. still looking for some golden sticks.

yepp, from what i heard theres not such a big difference between the different tccd brands, its more like there are good and not so good sticks from all brands

the adata pc 4800 DDR600 was the first ddr600 tccd memory, so they probably have older tccd chips? i dont know, im just speculating...

if i were you i would just get the cheapest tccd thats rated for a high speed

sorry to ask here but i was planning to get some adata ddr600 if my 3500ebs not perform good on msi k8n & 3500+ 0.09. will there any problems if i try to run 300 1:1 with 2*512 adata ddr600

Yup, had a pair that did 250 @ 2.5-3-3-7 2.7v (all I tested). Bought them 8 months back I think.

the XMS i have is hitting 300 on each 512 stick..

i doubt you'll get anywhere near 300 with 512 mb sticks anyhow, so just buy the cheapest tccd available, not like you'll be braking any records with 2x512mb sticks

Is the fact that both of these sticks I got do 300 lucky? They're both 512 modules.. XMS LL pro with the led's.. I don't want to remove the heatspreaders because I'm not so sure how they're wired (they show activity.. so they might be soldered on somehow? ehhh)

I've been using the adata ddr500 and I have been satisfied with them, running att 285fsb, so I think the ddr600 will hit atleast ddr550 and ddr600 with alittle more voltage

If you cant give it voltage, then im guess'n 285 2.5-3-3-7 is going to be faster than 250 3-2-2-8 if your in the minority that can get that on 2.8vdimm.
