    P4C800 Hot Mosfets !!!!!

    Hello,

    I have a P4C800 with a 3.0C, prommy cooled.

I found out that the mosfets around the cpu socket are extremely hot. So hot that I can't even hold my finger on them for more than 1second...

Is this normal in this board to have such high temps on the mosfets? If not, what can be happening?

    My actual vcore is 1,725v
I have vdimm modd, with mems at 3,2v

    thankx

Yes, this is normal. There are quite a few mosfets and PLLs around the cpu socket, agp slot and ram slots that would do well with passive cooling. If you do a search of "P4C800 mosfet cooling" or "P4C800 hot spots" and variances of the same strings, you should find a pic made by bh2k that highlights all of the hot spots. You might even get a few MHz out of it.

Post again if you can't find the pic.

It should be pretty similar. Just attach heatsinks to all the mosfets and PLLs around the agp slot, ram slots and cpu socket. Sink the clock generator as well.
