Computer shut down - PSU ?

I've got a big problem.. I got new PSU (Aspire 500 W). It should be pretty good, and it have lots of amphere. But.. Sometimes my PC just shut down, like if you cut the power.
I really dont know why, and it can nearly only be my PSU, it feels like it ain't strong enough..
    But my PC is only
    1 CPU fan
    2 HD's
    2 cd rom
    1 radeon 9700 pro
    1 gb ram
    1 CPU

It should be a problem to run that, or.. ?
I'm just pretty pissed because i can't really test my new AMD Mobile 2600+..

Hm.. usually its overclocked. But i cant find a point where it always shut down. Its not very logic.. Sometimes i can run 2400 mhz and no problems, other times it shutdown at just very little pressure, ex. 2000 mhz pifast or something.
I dont really have another PSU, i sold my Q-Tec 550 W, and that PSU sucks anyway..

I just tried again.. Clocked to 2250 mhz (Not a very big clock)
i was able to run super pi, and got a 43 sec..
Then i tried Hexus Pifast - and it shut down immedietly

Btw. A weird thing is that when it shut down.. i have to remove power from computer, for 4-5 sec, and then enable power, before i can start the computer again. if i dont do that, simply nothing happens when i press the start button

try removing everything that uses power and is not essential i.e 1 stick of mem, 1x hdd, no fans, NIC, sound etc

i have same problem in my system.. if i run 1.9v or more vcore it will just randomly shut down.. sometimes will prime for hours and somtimes will just shutdown when sitting on desktop... just like someone has pulled the power out or something.. with 1.875v its fine tho

dont think its heat related as ive never seen my cpu temps over 60c..

Well Aspire 500W model says max output is 500W, but under what conditions?

    500W @ 30C? (regular computer operating temp?_
    500W @ 0C ? (non existent atsmosphere?)

I've never used an Aspire PS so I don't know how they're built but I'm thinking that your PS is not stable with OC, try running everything at stock and run prime95 for a few hours and see if it reboots

I think Aspire is in the same league as Q-tech and other lowbudget stuff.

    Here´s a review. They didn´t recommend it.

    The 12V line falls to 11.5 under load on a P4 @ 3.2 Ghz.

Its pretty cheap, and i know its not top quality. Anyway, i'd heard that it could deliver lots of power + recommandations.
i now know i've paid to much for it..

But.. Anyway, i think it should be able to run my system with no problems, or am i wrong?
Maybe i'll try to sell it.. and get quality, maybe OCZ or antec

Definately sounds like a strained PSU

    Moving to general hardware..
