    X800 Vivo -> XT Overclocking

This is a thread for everybody who has done the X800 Pro VIVO to XT PE mod to post overclocking results.

Post how high you can get your card, any mods youve done to it, and what bios youre using if it helped increase your OC any, and the brand of card

    Sapphire
*EDIT* I found out you can adjust your fan speed in atitool using 100% fanspeed I get 554/594 artifact free in atitool and 580/605 benchable now! wow
ATI 526/573 bios helped the OC

    1.6vgpu

608/608 for benchmarks with minor memory artifacting. Actualy havnt tried higher than 608 core yet so it may be higher but i doubt much.

where can I get info about the pencil mod for the x800pro vivo? is it even needed to achieve XT speeds?

I'm getting the sapphire Toxic VIVO if that makes any difference ...

here ya go. Mine need'd the pencil mod to do x800xtpe speeds. Shipped with 1.32vgpu but needed 1.36vgpu to do 520 on the core. 1.4v or so is x800xtpe stock voltage and your card may ship with it.

My card was getting 1.4v (checked with multimeter)
Highest benchable clocks were just around xtpe speeds, but I didn't get much of a chance to test it. I THINK it would have gone a bit farther though.
It was on the stock cooler.

with the stock cooler/Retail x800xtpe bios and 1.44vgpu(just slightly overspec) i could do around 550/585. With the same voltage on this hacked up ghetto installed axp cooler with the same voltage i got 560/598 clocks. Kept adding voltage untill i got 600/600 give or take. I run it stock 24/7 tho.

yeah, but what resistance should the resistor be to go from 1.3v to 1.4???

also, the toxic ships with the new vga silencer type4 which has a plate on the back for the memory, i hope it doesn't interfere ...

aparently it varies. mine was at 418ohms but ive seen people with cards that shipped with 1.4v also at around 418ohms.

Check the voltage, pull out the card and lower the resistance 18~20 ohms and check the voltage if you need more, Estimate from that increase in voltage what you need to set the resistance to as its fairly linear but i wouldnt go further than a 35~40 ohm resistance drop without checking it to be safe.

I wouldnt go past 1.45v or so on the stock cooler tho and if you upgrade your cooling you will have to do the OVP mod and it requires soldering if you wish to go past around 1.6v i believe.

I set my voltage to 1.633 and was able to pass at 608mhz core but would fail at 614mhz core even tho temps were still under 55c load. Also after a single run at 608/608 at 1.633vgpu it would crash in nature of 3dmark01 at 608/590. At 1.604v im able to get the same 608mhz on the core and maby more, and 600mhz on the memory+ is still useable but i havnt gone further than that yet and it seems much more stable at this voltage than it was at 1.633. Im fairly sure its due to not have'n done the OVP mod but since the closest thing to a soldering iron i have here is my tig welder i dont know for sure.

15k would take one hell of a overclock with a axp. It takes a damn good overclock regardless, im only at about 14.8k at 600/600+ and 230x11 on my 3500+.

As for 30k on a axp, i very highly doubt it. If it is possable it will take one of those 3300+mhz mobile bartons to do it.

on the 4.6 or the 4.8cats?

I imagine there the 4.8's but if your on the 4.6's thats a decent score, i got a shave over 10k with my a64 at stock when i got mine. 12.5k at x800xtpe pipes/clocks and 13k at 540/570.

I think i may format my 6gig quantum and put the 4.6's back on to try for a hall of fame 2k3 score. I think its only at 14.2k but i dunno if i'll hit that on the 4.6's or not.

    4.9 beta ...

this is on winxp install which is pretty old ...

with my 9800xt and all same drivers on win2k, I get 20k in 3dmark2001se at 220x10, same setting in winxp, I get like a 2k drop if not more ...

as far as I'm concerned 25k is broken

    so is 10k

    with 12pipes ...

ok, going to run atitool's max core setting

    what about the RAM???

well, at 555MHz, during a heat up phase, the system froze, the temp reported was 60C, so I am guessing that if I get the Silencer, the temp should never go above 60 at 550MHz?

Slavik, you get your Toxic X800 yet? I'm still waiting for allstarshop.com to send mine, it's been sitting in the "ready to ship" status over the weekend and is really starting to worry me.

weaponx, actually I made a mistake, it turns out that I ordered the regular x800pro VIVO, not the toxic version

    dissappointed , but not really

I got my vivo from dljsystems.com, they shipped the same day (I got 2nd day fedex for 12.50)

Sorry for second post, but Slavik, if you're interested in the Toxic cooler (huge Orange cooler on top of CPU), we could probably work out some cheap deal because I plan to slap a PolarFlo GPU on mines and call it a year. The real reason why I wanted one was I wanted the blue PCB and that's it...

sweet ... how much do you want for it???

btw, I suggest you take a look on the inside to make sure the anodising didn't wear off, etc ... 'cause u know what happens ...

well, with the stock cooler, XT-PE speeds are pretty much guaranteed ...

at 555MHz, while doing a heat up phase, system froze and with memory at 600, ati tool backed it off to 590 due to artifacts ...

my vgpu is 1.4v which I won't mod

my card is 16pipes enabled, btw (I flashed a modded BIOS, which only changes the amount of enabled pipelines)

EDIT: we should do a "bench-off" at our best OC ... I have a feeling my system will be pretty close to yours (as soon as I figure out why my system isn't total stable at 245MHz FSB )

I just called allstarshop.com and they told me they were "supposed" to get the shipment of Toxics today, but didn't...they say aim for tomorrow (I was thinking aim for her head with an M82 sniper rifle). But when I do (hopefully) get it, I'll give it to ya for 15 bucks + shipping, comes with a temp sensor (which I don't think is all that anyways).
