I used two have two fios 150/75 packages bonded to 300/150. Here is an old speedtest.net picture when I was doing this:
Now I only have a single 150/75 connection with FIOS. The reason being because they came after me for bandwidth usage and with a bandwidth limit I don't see any reason to be paying them $420/month for internet anymore.

Work/Home:
Upgraded. Had Charter, moved & got Comcast. Ended up having the try to ruin my credit & switched to Century Link. Moved back "home" and back with Charter. I've been through the ringer w/ ISPs.
I have the max for my area: 100/5

Third world Internet:
There's nothing faster here, for home usage that is.
About ~ U$S19 for 1 year, after that ~ U$S 39. But prices tend to vary a lot here, with an inflation of ~35% per year.

Verizon, aka frontier these days.
3 megs, I forget the upload speed lol.
Set to bridge mode, rt-vbr.
Noise wise I know 3megs is pushing it from the location in my house, if I were to hook up outside I could get the full 3mbits (I could get around 8mbits max).
When dude 1st checked my lines when I got it installed a few years back he was kind enough to check the outside noise and my rooms noise levels.
I probably live about 3 miles from the local switching station, I haven't counted it yet actually lol, it's straight down the road a few blocks.
The fiber ring it's self goes past my house way down to the rich people's area by the lake, been there way before they allowed me too hook to it.
I love this isp though, they don't even know I'm connected to it lol .
I do miss netzero though...
Anyways it's not super quick, a royal pain sometimes on youtube, but otherwise it's alright.
I pay about $75 a month for both phone and internet, old school phone too not the bs digital crap.
I used to pay a locked in price of $45 for 1.5m and phone, but I was foolish enough to get it upgraded and it wasn't until recent I managed to get another 40k'ish or so out of it.
Edit:
Oh and no digi splitters on my line, had those removed by some nice worker dude years ago before I got dsl .
My line goes in a slight zigzag pattern to the station though, but ohwell.
I mean it goes a mile down towards the station, then a mile in the wrong direction, 3 miles down towards the right direction, and then a mile back to the station...
I didn't need to tell you guys that, I'm just rambling on.
6 miles line to station probably, 3 miles probably physically to the station.

Just switched back to TWC from UVerse after a move and no UVerse in the area even though we moved literally less then a mile away. $100~/mo with basic HD cable, box and webz.

250 Mbit/s fiber connection (Location: Latvia, Riga). ~27 USD per month. Cheap, fast and stable as . Latvia is a superpower at least in this field
http://www.bloomberg.com/slideshow/2...et.html#slide7When thinking about the most technologically advanced nations, Latvia probably doesn't come to mind. But broadband lines there reached an average peak speed of 37.5 megabits per second, placing the country in the top four.

Current Status - Testing & Research
My area has a temporary provision with speed upgrades where the upload has not been improved (yet). Talk about asynchronous.
