Software tools for testing and wiping 2.5" and 3.5" SAS drives
Hi guys,
I have the opportunity to get some good deals on used and new 2.5 and 3.5" SAS drives. However, I am not sure what the best software tools are to use on them in order to determine whether they are good. For SATA drives I have primarily used SMART testing and/or HDisk Sentinel. So far the only thing I have read about for SAS drive testing is smrtmontools.
Also, I am wondering whether there are specific programs for wiping SAS drives, or whether you can use the same sort of programs that are used to wipe SATA drives, like DBAN, nWipe, etc?
Thanks in advance.
