Quick question for Crosshair V owners.

Before I buy this board, I'm trying to decide what drives to get.
I notice that it has 7 internal SATA ports, 6 from the AMD chipset, and 1+1eSATA from an ASMedia controller.

Can the ASMedia port be used to boot? Lets say I wanted to connect a single SSD as boot, and then use the AMD ports in RAID mode to build a larger storage volume for steam games etc.
Anyone V owners doing that? Does the ASMedia handle an SSD boot OK?

SSD performance is lower on the ASMedia controller compared to the native AMD controller.

Thanks guys, I've just placed the order. I too have decided to keep it nice and simple this time. Not bothering with RAID on this new rig.
I ordered a Samsung 840Pro 256Gb to use as boot and some programs/games, got a 2Tb Caviar black for games/steam, and a 2Tb green for media and other storage.
I read a lot of good reviews of the new 2Tb black, it's supposed to be fairy snappy thanks to the new dual actuators and high platter density.

Hopefully it all arrives soon! I love new rig time. Can't wait to have some 8 core Vishera fun!
