Have you ever seen a core i5 or i7 turbo above its "max turbo"?
Hi all,
I've got an 'ultrabook' with ivy bridge core i5 3427u 1.8ghz and have been using intels turbo tech. monitor tool to watch turbo on windows 7 home 64bit.
A couple of times I have seen it report my processor at 3.2ghz for a couple of seconds, then 3ghz, then normal. Other times it behaves as expected (2.6ghz under a light load, and 2.8ghz on single thread)
Surely this is too much? this is 14 "bins" (@ +100mhz = 1400mhz) or a 78% boost.
Wondering if this was a bug or other users have seen this behavior where the processor can actually turbo higher than their official specs??
