I flashed 0901, no issues, but I don't notice any increased functionality or stability either. Sorry to hear about your misfortune Vlad.

I've heard the NB got some high temps in CHV. Is it also happening in the -Z ?

I've been folding all week and the NB is 34C. (The CPU at 51C.) I have the all the fans on low to make it as silent as possible.

This is at stock frequencies/voltages for the CPU and NB. (Memory at DDR3-2133.)
I've not done a lot of NB/HT overclocking because I've not really seen a lot of benchmarks that show it is worth overclocking.

I am using the new Bios 1002 released on 11/14.

NIGHTMARE IN THE FREAKING CITY: WARNING ABOUT NEWEST BIOS ON CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z

I grabbed the newest 1403 bios released a week or so ago. Flashed it. Rebooted. NOTHING. Black screen. No post... no graphics of any type.... The q-code was mostly useless... giving either a "10" or "05".

I saw a code that said something about the graphics card being in the wrong slot... and had seen someone else mention issues with this bios and graphics. So I tried another slot and then put my old backup GPU. Nothing. It stopped once on a memory error... so I switched ram around and tried a single stick trick. Nothing. Then I put my old PHII 965 in. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Went to lunch. Cried. Banged my head on the wall.

SAVED: I finally ended up reflashing the january 1302 bios by putting it onto a USB stick, renaming it to C5FZ.CAP, putting it into the ROG CONNECT USB slot with the mahcine off and power on and pressing and holding the ROG CONNECT button until things started flashing. This flashed the old bios using the flashback (which is undocumented on the Formula-Z) to go back to that old bios.

SUCCESS... I won't have to kill the cat afterall. Unless I do it for fun.

BUT I will avoid the new 1404 bios... and warn others of it. What a freaking nightmare. Anyway got the FX-8350 reinstalled... and my 4850x2 GPU installed and am now back to normal. (The GPU is temporary in that I'm buying something new soon... but my 5870 blew up.. but I thought I'd maybe wait for the next iteration of ATI in the fall... and get an 8970.)

Anyway... I'm back to normal now.... panic mode off.
