But but but! I've still got 3000 units to run!Appears that GPU work is now over and just wanted to take a minute and thank all of you.

Still got 15,000 fresh ones to get through yet
Ha, well actually, I'm now bone dry & have been on all but 3 hosts for a day now. Chance for a 'sand bagger' to claim the cherry![]()

In all honesty I know there is no comparing a dual socket workstation to some mega million dollar supercomputer but in terms of something that is actually "ownable" this system
is a real beast and will be more so when the new 12 core IB xeons come out and they will pop right into this..

I don't think IBM had near as much GPU power going on.

IBM has a lot of CPUs I guess. Same with 2ch.
I think some of us went a little too far down the GPU path, and others went missing during the GPU hayday. trn looks to have scaled way back for example during the GPU hayday.

I did notice about a 20 million per day jump in IBM soon after you posted on WCG about XS claiming the #2 spot.....
Looks like IBM is playing hardball. Hopefully they aren't from the Patches O'Houlihan school:

Too bad you guys couldn't send me some of your systems. The electric company here has been underbilling us now for a long time. I thought our bill would go up for last month after I got the HP xw8600 workstation with dual Xeon Harpertowns going. And yet they underbilled us yet again. even at their present rate its still dirt cheap per kW/hr.

Sparky, makes sense, I was just surprised
Yojimbo: hey, maybe I motivated them? LOL
Ok, so time to evaulate and get us back on track to keep IBM where they belong..Under our boot!![]()

If we don't close the gap, at the present difference in rates(54.6million), we've got about 25 days until they leave tread marks on us.

Then I guess we're going to have to do that..
I'll gave another machine on by wednesday afternoon..Just a 2600K but it will cook and maybe I can call my buddy in Norway and see if he's game to kick in a little..
In app a week I have a pair of 16 core AMD 6383's coming that will be replacing the 6168's in that system

It's 84F outside... but my 2 GPUs are at 180F... so that's why it's hot in my room. I don't know what temperature it is in my room but I bet it's around 110F+.
I hate heat. I need to move to the arctic circle...![]()
