    Wow you guys are going super hard on 775, pin modding and all.

    I am sure the 771 cpus have to be pretty cheap nowadays.

    I've seen refurbed 771 quad cores(E5405-5440) for 13-19.99 per chip. E5450-X5472's range from 40-100 per chip. I managed to snag a pair of used X5472's for $40 on eBay, but that was just a very lucky snag.

    Some slow 771 chips (Like E5110) were hard to sell when I had bulk server chips even 4-5 years ago for ~$15-20 a pop.

    They don't even list them anymore on eBay much it looks like, but I have contacts that will sell for $1/ea.

    Yep, for many friends, it's not so easy to get LGA771 CPU s nowadays.
