Also, notice that we are starting to breakaway from IBM, slowly but surely. We are now on top by at least 350 million. It would be nice to get a couple of billion between them and us before the GPU units dry up.

WCG just announced a Help Conquer Cancer Mac GPU Beta Test Mar 19, 2013 .
Doesn't seem logical to do that if the project has only about 6 weeks to run, unless they expect HCC to continue longer or they have another GPU project starting soon.
Optimistically, yes this would be so that Macs can be involved in the next set of GPU WU's. However its a pretty small run. The other possibility is that they are planning for the future, without a specific timetable for the next GPU project workload.
