Was just talking with my plating guru and his thinking is that there might have been some residual oil from the machining process left on the inside of the barbs that prevented a perfect bond. Coupled with your dual pumps and the finish washed loose. The parts go through a degrease process but it's possible/likely some oil was missed. I am sorry you had this issue CRFX...we do our very best to catch any problems in our quality control inspections but this one would have been hard to actually see.

He was also curious about the amount of material. The O ring in the center of the block base is a standard G1/4 right? Using that O ring as a scale reference. When we do a full batch of 5,000 fittings the tank gets like 1 cup of the color material.
