Has anyone ever used a 7" PCIE Riser to access covered PCIE slots on Bloodrage?

I am curious on this subject. I have 2 video cards in the 2 red pcie slots. I can't used my other 2 slots due to the design of the board. Has anyone tried this? I want to use this for my bootable Sata III controller card that I currently have on my PCIE x1 slot.

I will post my results when it comes in. Im going to switch out my Sata III card too. I am going to try SYBA SY-PEX40039 PCI-Express 2.0 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card on my setup and see how it goes. Either way I have my other setup I was going to need a Sata III card for and then I will decide between the HighPoint Rocket or Syba card on the Bloodrage.

Waiting the results. AsMedia chip should be better than Marvell 9128, but both controllers have pci-e 2.0 x1 restriction.

I couldnt get the ribbon to fit underneath the video cards... makes no sense to put 2 pcie 8x slots under 2 16x slots and can't use them!!!!
Any who... I installed the Asmedia card in the 1x slot and here are some results.

Wish I could try it on the 8x slot but I am not sacrificing a video card. Overall I like the results better on the Asmedia card. I am using 1.3.4.0 driver. The write speeds changed alot!

If I'm correct (and I think, I am ), both cards (Marvell and AsMedia) have pci-e 2.0 x1 interface. You'll see no difference in x8/x16 pci-e slot. AsMedia results are definitely better and instead of CrystalDiskMark you should try AS-SSD. It has also a compression-benchmark, very useful .

I have seen a few benchmarks in which they ran both cards on a x8/x16 slot and achieved faster speeds. Both cards top out at about 600 MB/s but are restricted to 500 MB/s on the 2.0 x1 slots. I am going to see if I can find something else on ebay.

Keep in mind that these risers are PCIE1.0 . I have few here tested so far with many gpu's .

I couldnt get the riser to work but I might pop off a video card and test it on the x8 or x16 slot just for knowledge. I dont think its worth losing a HD6950 for an extra 100MB/s on a SSD drive. Im also going to put the Marvell card back on and run AS SSD for therager and who ever else googles this so they can have an idea. I found little out there when searching on Mavell vs Asmedia on PCI-E x1 2.0. Atleast not I can prolong the setup a little longer and get something high end towards the end of the year.
