    Are yours "2500" serial number? If so, those are the HYK0 based sticks, not the HCH9 (which is what I"m sure anyone that bought this kit was expecting).

    I bought a set and received the "2500s". Haven't opened them up as they are going back to Newegg. This is not the first time that GSkill has done this and it is getting quite annoying, at least for me.

    Samples of the GSkill 2400 C9 kit are also now starting to show up with the "2500" S/N (HYK0s).

    Don?t know what should be that bad about 2500 batches - my kit does around Spi32m 1390 10-12-12-31 with about 1,65v, IMC limit is 1400 on my rig via bclk, so this is more or less highest reliable frequency I can test - my old trident 2600 c10 needed a lot more voltage for this, should be good mems for upcoming platforms

    I'm glad that you are happy with your kit.

    I am just of the opinion that the HCH9 based kits have a little more headroom and scale with better with voltage. I picked up a quad kit of the Corsair 2666 C10 kit, so my unopened GSkill 2x4GB kit with the 2500 series is headed back to the Egg for a refund.

    yes are 2500 im VERY MAD with Gskill really i can boot practically at any timmings and speed my IMC is strong but cant pass a single loop of SPI32...they are very unstable just like those $%$%$ HYK0

    They are different, I agree, but the HYKO have higher trcd limits, at least my kit, than all HCH9 I had. Cl9 is more diffiicult though on my 2666, at least on air, but I had no problems to run 1300 9-11-11-27 at 1,73v. I might keep it as an option for Haswell, kit that passes memtest 1333 trcd 11 should do not too bad on that. The Corsair should be a good choice anyway, no big differences from one kit to another, very good binned - but for samsung, which I don?t like very much, they are too expensive for me, I stay with my psc and bbse and even old Hyper sets

    @Dumo Nice work on these
    @andressergio This sounds real bad, like some Hypers on 1155 - compability issues I would guess, I had this with some Team 2666, they gave me instant freezes and such wonderful things if problem can?t be solved you might have to sell these or return

    Yeah, perhaps, but then again, everyone knows that you have a secret stash of Pixie Dust that turns every stick of ram into top-shelf stuff...and maybe some tweaking skills on your part doesn't hurt either.

    Nice clocks with those 2500s. Maybe I just need to get over my HCH9 vs HYK0 bias. BTW, what was the voltage needed for that C9 run?

    Heard u are Air vdimm master , go with 2.0volt on HYK0, they can take it easy, and they don't scale under cold, a bit tighter when cold but not much, open windows in winter is what they like.

    Yep, air still possible for twcl7 and ultra tight tertiaries

    Imo, I just hate to see good informative ram threads went south like that of Gskill 2400 C9 thread.

    Still trying this kit that seems great but cant make it stable i flashed to older bios and seems more stable i can boot at 2800 C10-12-12-31 1T 1.65 but not even 1.8 make it pass SPI32, only SPI1M :/

    i can boot 2666CL9, 2800 CL9 also with volts but reason for my unstability unknown with my actual chip im runing 2800CL11.13.13.35 1T TridentX Hynix 1,65 and can boot FROM BIOS and stay in win at 2933 C11-14-14-.35 1T 1,725 shoot SPI1M etc...

    another comming will test if its the kit or what any help on subs much appreciatted !!!

    Cheets to all mem Oc'rs
