Not seeing much happening in this thread lately, everyone abandoned Llano or something ? am i really that late to the party ..
So the case situation got really stupid real quick, two faulty cases received in a row, the original and the replacement. Have spent the last 2 weeks trying to figure out a plan B case wise.

Also I figure most here have moved on a while ago from Llano and from the looks of it stopped reading the thread altogether which makes me wonder what im going do if I need further input on Llano specific stuff. This thread and links from it being the best source I have found.

Nah, I'm sure that when you post, the guys who've done llano can still help. But case being faulty twice? How is a case faulty?

That really is too bad s1nner. sorry you must have the worst of luck...
If its not too late, i would just return the cpu/mobo you got from AMazon. Like I said 3 months ago, it made zero sense to buy into FM1 right at the end of its life

I think Asrock's MVP was one of the later FM1 boards so i dont know if there are any besides you that actually have that board. Still the general tips and quirks probably still apply. Sticking with multiplier ocing on a K chip is about as easy as it gets. Avoid bclk ocing so it doesn't break AHCI... which you actually do want if you are running a daily build with a half-modern SSD. Llano doesn't get that hot until you start pushing volts.

My LLano @ 3.5GHz has been my daily gaming rig for about 9 months now. Pretty fun to mess around with, but its time for trinity in less than 2 weeks!

First case had a distorted side panel, its replacement had one of the tabs broken to hold on the bezel. Decided that the two strikes and you are out rule should be applied so am looking at other case options and getting refund from Amazon.

I have had bad luck with this build and hilariously bad timing to.
To late to return, so im gonna stick with the 3670k/Asrock FM75 Pro4 MVP and get all I can out of it and hop on board the Trinity train beginning of next year. I really should have just gone into Llano/FM1 like my gut told me to late last year, but I went around in circles for months.. and months.

Llano run from a recent AMD GamExperience event (in Paris):

I think it can go faster. This was the score after just a few tries and then I ran out of time.

May have noticed my lack of posting updates again.

This is because I did actually decide on a case finally a few weeks ago.. Decided to step up to an Fractal Design R4 to maybe avoid build quality issues and I went for White to colour wise for something a bit different.

I bet you all cant guess what happened next ? .. yep case problems again. Side panel on motherboard component side was ridiculously difficult to remove and impossible to refit properly as it was way to tight a fit. So it was RMA time once again. Retailer has sent out a replacement after a delay due to some confusion on their end so there is that. So fingers crossed the replacement arrives and all is well.

This build has been the build from hell and I haven't even gotten to power up anything yet.. what must be 3 months after receiving the first component so if there are any more issues requiring returns of major items (motherboard, cpu, memory)then I give up and am getting a pre-built thing or going notebook.

On the other hand, if all is well and this lil Lano is as much of a champ as id figured it was when working out this build.. ill be very happy indeed, and may hug the damn thing.
