Red face Anyone having Fun with Trinity ?

    Hello there
I just want to ask two simple question
Does VCore must go so high up to 1.45V for normal operation??
and the NB Voltage sky rocket to 1.275V isn't doing any good

Sorry I only got one night to test it out
and I got stock cooler only

The BIOS of "this" board is quite buggy when I first checked
but I "saw" their website uploaded a Official release BIOS and updated to Release version BIOS

At least I don't have to boot into Window 7 64bit with 1.5V VCore (That's way TOO MUCH )

Weird BIOS ... even after disable CPB *(Turbo Core) and Cool & Quiet
The CPU-Z shown frequency still jump around from 3.3GHz up to 4GHz ...

    It just doesn't make sense

    i´d say immature bios.
was the same when thuban came out. c´n´q and turbo was always on, even if u had it disabled in bios.

Do you know if the heatsink socket on the FM2 is compatible with the older AMD boards or has it changed?

For example, I bought a HS/fan (center clamp type) for an AMD s754 and it also works on s939 and AM3. So I'm wondering if this HS might work on FM2 socket also.

    Thanks!

    Here is ASUS F2A85-M PRO
As long as your Heatsink fits AM3 , it should work just fine

Could you test max stable HTT/BCLK (on lower than standard multiplier)?

CPU Vdd in Pb0 PState (CPB, Turbo) can go up to 1.475V.

1.275V is completely normal voltage for the GPU.
On Trinity there is no separate voltages for CNB and GNB (GPU).
    Only UNB voltage.

Sorry didn't have time to OC it
I have only 3 hour to test it , figure out the buggy Beta BIOS and updated it to "Retail Launch" version
already used up half of the time ( not getting used to the new UEFI BIOS interface)

The "Retail" BIOS still kinda buggy

The original test platform OS crashed (Due to non-sense 1.5V VCore required to boot up) and I barely able to
run some basic test. since Anandtech and most major website already got the GPU benched , I just spent the remain time to test the CPU part.

Not as bad as I expected.

    For Wattage part
CPU Idle at 36W impressed me
and Full load with Orthos SP2004 (two of them , CPU 100% ) use less than 100W sounds very promising

Well it's too late , I have returned the board and APU.
Until they got into retail channel in Hong Kong (which maybe next few days)

I guess I just have to wait again

Nice to have IOMMU with A85X

Pretty impressive with the Graphic part of Trinity
    and for power consumption
FYI , during Battlefield 3 Multiplayer , it takes less than 125W for whole system

Any idea if the top part would be any good for GW2? GW2 tends to be somewhat more CPU bound, but does have the ability to keep a decent GPU busy .

I am sorry , I have returned the part ( 3 hours loan only )
for Guild War 2 I guess it's not good enough (It can handle 720p Battlefield 3 , barely )
