Sergio, were you able to flash back with EZ flash or did you have to use an USB drive in the ROG connect USB port for that? I have a feeling the difference is just in the LLC settings. 0078 required "high" to get the Vcore stable, all others seem to require "ultra high".

So far 1204 seems not too bad for me, i didn't have to raise Vcore for my daily 4.8GHz, in fact i lowered it a notch but my ram seemed a little unstable with the settings i used with other bios'.

It's a pity this board doesn't have dual bios so one can test bios' side by side.

i agree with you mate in fact im not complaining much about vcore cauz my chip like high vcore but for mem stability yes...

i use ROG to flash yes as im using new raid rom with it

yes its a pity not dual bios

    cheers mate

No mate, here's what to do:

-Format a USB drive in FAT format.
-Extract bios of choice (0904 in your case) and put it on root of the USB drive
    -Rename bios M5G.CAP
-Make sure system is off, PSU plugged in and power cord in
-Put USB drive in the white ROG connect USB port
-Hold the ROG connect button for a couple of seconds until the red LED next to the bios chip starts flashing
-Let it run for a couple of minutes until LED stops flashing
-Turn system on with USB drive still in place
-Be patient, the system will now install bios
-The system will restart automatically and update iROG after that
-Grab a beer and enjoy "new" old bios.

    Good luck

Thanks worked perfect, back on 0904 now. To bad my mem wont go any higher. I want to try out my Samsung HCH9 more, is it any difference between slots when overclocking?

    You're welcome.

I haven't noticed much difference between the black or red slots.

edit: what timings, speed and volts are you running on the Sammies?

Well iīm not good at all to overclock mem but 2000mhz 8-9-9-28 with around 1.6v i think i did. Over that and windows crashes.

As you can see in this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...B&daysprune=30 the generic Samsung ram is pretty overclockable. Personally i think 1.6V is somewhat conservative. I wouldn't be afraid to give this ram 1.7-1.75V for daily use. But that is up to you of course.

Well mate, just load Samsung medium profile, set 1.7V and you should be able to at least run 2200, if not 2400.

Lowered the voltage to 1.7 , but couldnīt pass SuperPI 16MB . It maybe want more volt or some timings is wrong

EDIT: btw , to get that samsung profile i have to move a jumper on the board right?

No mate, just go to Extreme Tweaker menu, DRAM Timing Control, Memory preset. Hit enter and you will find a number of presets. Choose Samsung Medium. That's all, no jumpers need to be touched.

Having an issue with my new MVG, swapped from an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 and like the results so far (lower volts & temps for same OC) but I can't quite stabilize my 4.9GHz 3770k OC that was stable on the old board. Can pass IBT maximum but not P95 blend, will fail randomly with a c00000005 error and constant WHEA errors "internal parity error" (no more BSODs just a prime95.exe has stopped working message). Running the following via BIOS/TurboV Evo:
    49x multi all cores
    BCLK 100.1
    HT Off
    C3 & C6 off
    LLC 1 down from maximum
    vcore 1.435 (1.44-1.448 under load)
    DDR 1.745
    VCCSA 1.225
    VCCIO 1.23125
    PLL 1.8
I'm running 8GB TridentX 2800 c11 @ 2600 10-12-12-32-1T (IMC won't drive much more than 2600). Not dropping my RAM speed/timings any further, not going to settle for less after paying as much for my RAM as I did for my CPU. Any suggestions?

Load temps only hit 68 C on the hottest core after ~ half hour blend test, this is on custom water cooling, lapped IHS + waterblock, and Liquid Pro under the IHS.

@techguy2k5....Your ram should be stable @ 2600 with less than 1.65V and autos on vccsa, vccio and vtt and cas 11-13-13-35.

You will need unnecessary high vdimm to run hynix based tridentX 2800 @ cas 10

so load the xmp profile and try for 2600? I'd like to go for tighter timings than that if possible, seems a waste to me but I will definitely take your advice and start testing stability, thanks.

Just tried that and now trying to OC again, having an issue with vcore using TurboV, it spikes up to dangerously high levels as soon as I apply any additional vcore. Is this LLC at work? Example: my target voltage is in the 1.44-1.45 range and I need to set approximately 1.33 to get there! That's a .12v spike!

Also still getting WHEA errors but less frequent now. Have RAM set to XMP profile and auto VDIMM, VCCSA, VCCIO, VTT, vcore manually set to 1.345 via TurboV (goes up to 1.46).

That's all that's needed for 4.8? Really want 4.9+ though, as I said, I had an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 that could hit 4.9 and 2600 c10-1t and pass p95 blend for at least 1.5 hours before, IBT Max. stable also.

A bit more testing now, loaded the gamer OC profile as you suggested (thanks Dumo) and changed all multipliers to 49, LLC to ultra high (or whatever the one just below extreme is) and manually applied voltage of 1.46 and it's looking good now. WHEA errors are no longer occurring (so far) and voltage is rock solid at 1.472 under load and 1.448 at idle. Going to try to increase bclk to get slightly higher core & mem speeds. Any suggestions there? Where should I try to tighten the timings on my TridentX for speed near 2600? Thanks a million!

hey mate theres quite a jump in volts from 4.8 or 4.9 to 5GHz if you want to keep 5GHz stable you will need to use LLC on xtreme and offset vcore, i know a lot of 24/7 testing as i do game a lot heavy games on 2560x1440 native res and SLI, i tested 3570K and now 3770K and both are hunger when on 5GHz
