I would say that rules out the CPU then.... got to be the board/bios as the RAM is previously tested & the CPU can at least boot 2700.

Anybody watching the Gigabyte/HWBot Classic Challenge?

I looked it up the other day & was quite impressed with some of the times over there. I am playing along over here just for fun & to see how close I can run against the leader board. It’s hotting up... I just had a quick look & see Aristidis & Vivi have swapped 1st & 2nd place. Yesterday Vivi had 1st place with an awesome time but has now been trumped by Aristidis by a whopping .750 or so!!!

    Check it out here http://hwbot.org/competition/gbt_cla....5g_low-clock/

    That’s the PSC 2133 7.10.7 set I think frozen & volted up

Funny thing is I have a set of these & can’t get on with them... not that I'm going to do it but it looks like freezing them is the way to go.

    Re: http://www.station-drivers.com/forum...hp?f=32&t=3964
Why aren't these VIA USB 3.0 drivers (that you posted at station-drivers.com) installing on my Z77-UD5H system?

The only USB 2.0 or 3.0 drivers that do install and work (besides the Intel USB 3.0 drivers) are the USB 2.0 native Windows 7 64-bit drivers from Microsoft, dated 2006.
So, I'm beginning to think that the UD5H board's non-Intel USB 3.0 ports are not really VIA, but some other 3rd-party brand.
Or: are the VIA USB 3.0 controllers using Intel drivers?

Note: these VIA 810 (version 1.90A) drivers also fail installation:
    http://www.via-labs.com/en/support/downloads.jsp

    VIA USB 3.0 driver.jpg

The VIA USB 3.0 firmware updater [not pictured] detects the existing version as 9.50, then goes through the motions of updating the firmware, but after system re-boot, hasn't actually updated the firmware at all.

    http://www.gigabyte.us/products/prod...px?pid=4139#sp

    VIA USB 3.0a.jpg

The first 4 and the last 3 USB devices use MS drivers.
The other 6 USB devices use Intel drivers.
No VIA devices are listed in Device Manager, yet all system USB 3.0 ports are working OK.

OK, but: why do the correct "810" VIA USB 3.0 controller drivers also give the same "install failure" message?

VIA 810 (version 1.90A) drivers fail installation:
    http://www.via-labs.com/en/support/downloads.jsp

Side note: the Z77-UD5H beta bios F9q halts the boot process at the initial bios screen, if the Atheros secondary ethernet port has been disabled in bios.

VLI810 is a USb 3.0 hub, which doesn't require drivers because it is a hub. Same hub was used on M4E and Z68X/P67A-UD7, never had a driver on those boards.

    VLI800 is the 4-port controller.

Z77-UD5H bios version F10 (final?) dated 8/8/2012 has the same boot failure as the earlier beta version F9q.
If the Atheros secondary ethernet port has been disabled in the bios setup, the system will hang at reboot on the initial bios boot screen.
    F9o doesn't have the problem.

Are you talking about the "Onboard LAN Controller#1" ?

My system boots fine with it on its own disabled & or the PCH controller disables in both XP 32 Bit SP3 & W7 Ult x64 SP1

Correct. "Onboard LAN Controller#1"= the Atheros ethernet controller.

Hey guys some REALLY good news for samsung ULV owners, i just got a new test BIOS, which I will see if I can post. I can do 2600mhz T1 cas 10 1.7v. 32M stable. Shoudl be new BIOS with the fix out for UP5 and UD5H. Just finished UD5H testing and all seems decent, UP5 testing now in affect. This solution will apply to users with 2-4 sticks, as we already know you can do 2600mhz with a single stick.

Shoudl be new BIOS with the fix out for UP5 and UD5H. Just finished UD5H testing and all seems decent, UP5 testing now in affect. This solution will apply to users with 2-4 sticks, as we already know you can do 2600mhz with a single stick.
Thats great news. I cant wait to try mine.
