Has anyone run into any problems with the mcr320-xp fan holes not actually lining up with a 120 fan? ive just got two new radiators and cannot for the life of me get the fan holes to line up, it sucks because ive even scuffed some paint on my brand new radiator, its like they are off by a smidge i literally have spent over an hour trying to get my fans mounted... need to take a break/breather im getting so frustrated

So i took a break, came back to see if it was just frustration that is causing it, but i really for the life of me cannot get these dang fans to mount... its like the holes are just ever so off. Using the provided screws that came with the radiator, and im using the d1225c12b5ap fans...
HOpefully a swiftech rep can respond im getting pretty pissed off at this point, dont feel i should have to drill/retap new holes....

if you're using gaskets or some kind of anti-vibration material between the fan and radiator, it's generally not a problem to only use 2 screws at opposing corners to attach each fan. I'm not sure when you step up to high-power fans if that's still the case.

Yea i now i can just use 2 screws but kind of annoying, i just took my other new mcr320 and it has no issues, i was able to mount without a problem. GUess i need to RMA/send back.

It's a very common problem. Swiftech's quality control on their radiators is pretty crappy.
My MCR320 has the same problem.
I have sent an email to both swiftech and performancepcs, i just hope because some paint has now chipped near the screw holes they dont deny my rma, crummy waiting for parts only to have this happen oh well, swiftech has taken care of me in the past so im hoping they help me now

what did you end up doing? did you rma or just fix it yourself? Its funny the more i look at my rad, i can visually see the holes are not lined up properly.

It usually helps not to tighten the screws before all of them have a couple of threads in. If you've tried that already, just send an email to Michelle (michelle at swiftech) and we'll get your RMA going.

I did try that, and had my father assist to ensure it wasnt frustration causing my problems, i sent her an email im hoping i can setup an inperson RMA as im about 20 minutes from LB.

i have a mcr320-drive, and one hole is a little off, so i do that one first.
the other mcr320-drive was a rev b and was perfect, except i stripped the threads on one of the holes (and i didnt try that hard)

I actually didn't even notice the holes were off when I originally got it. The way I had it mounted only required 2 holes, I had it mounted on its side for 4 years (out of warranty).
I noticed the holes were off last month when I was planning on moving it to a top mounted config in an A05NB. At first I thought the holes I drilled were off, but the radiator wouldn't even line up with a proper rad grill.
I ended up bending the mounting holes and the outer casing slightly (can't see the change with your eye). I got a very long screw and with the screw threaded into the tabs, and bent them in the direction that would line it up with my holes. I also had to over-drill my holes more than I wanted to and used washers.
Mine is quite old, G3/8 holes. Maybe they stepped up their quality control. Held next to my Thermochill radiator, it really doesn't compare build wise. I don't regret buying it by any means; they're really low priced radiators for their performance. Honestly, I've come to expect this issue from every manu. I just got a pair of MCR140 that were just a smidgen off (all holes usable). I have a RX120 that is also a bit off and a GTS120 and an old PA as well. The easiest one to over come the misalignment was the PA due to having to use self tapping screws (< feature). IIRC, the RX's were real bad when they first came out, they wouldn't line up at all.

Anyone ever consider taking a 5/16th drill and opening up the hole on the fan?
I do this to fit 80mm fans on HS designed for 77mm factory molded fans ..
Works, saves an RMA in your case and is maybe a few minutes to do..

Thanks for the input guys, i could definitely just use 2 screws to mount it, and even redrill the hole but i paid good money for a product in which i feel obligated to have one work without any mods, michelle has contacted me to setup and RMA so this should all be settled. Visually i can see the holes are off. THanks guys!

I had a drive that would not pump, and the screws would not not thread. Gabe himself worked with me to see what the issue was. I sent my drive to them, they replaced the entire unit. I chipped the crap out of it trying to get the thing to work. I even had some bent fins, they still swapped it.
Totally made up for the incident with my pump a few years back.
same goes for my mcr320qp res. 1 of the fan holes in the centre fan is off by 0.5-1mm. it's utterly annoying
where can I find a AMD phenom keychain?
I've got one here where no holes line up at all. You can get one screw, maybe two in on both sides. But, I'm just gonna pull the sides off and replace them with some I made myself. I'm already doing major surgery to it, might as well go whole hog. I'm sure I'll post pics when I get started.
