Using a PCI-E card without the bracket.

Is this OK to do or not?
I've just finished building my Windows Home Server, and the case I chose is very tight.
I can't for the life of me fit the Raid card in with it's bracket attached.
It's a Highpoint RocketRAID 640, and although it came with a low profile bracket, I just cant make it fit.
Basically, if I put the riser on first, I can't fit the card in lenghways, and if I put the riser on the mobo first, I cant fit the card in widthways! Argh!
So what do you guys think? I mean basically, it's only held in place by the force in the PCI connector.

if it's not too heavy, stays in firmly and you don't drop that case too often it should be ok

I like large posteriors and I cannot prevaricate

The card seems to be held up there well by those cables... As long as you don't move it around too much, it will be fine.

Yeh, it's resting on all those cables, so that should be OK, but what I'm a little concerned about is the card working loose.
The case has 3 fans, and 4 HDD's.
The case won't be moved about at all, it'll basically sit on a shelf under my desk, but I wonder if the vibrations from the HDD's will slowly cause the card to move out of the slot.
Maybe I should try to bodge something along the edge, like in those vent holes, to stop the card moving.

Put a strip of clear packing tape across the back of the card, and the pcie connector.
