ahh, well thats all good and fine but this is a little more low tech.
I mean open case on my kitchen table..
Thankfully five feet behind it is a sliding glass door that does draw most of the heat out as long as the outside temps are under 80F
Now I do close that door at night and when I get up in the am this furnace has heated the entire top floor of the house to 84-85F and thats with night time temps of 60's and a window left open in the living room..Yea, 2-150W cpu's toss a sheetload of heat..

Normally, the only appropriate response would be to call you a p_s_y.If had had the beast, I would probably baby it too.
That hardware costs some serious coin. It hit 93F here today. My main rig and IBs were running full honk. The whole farm would have been running if it weren't for enemies of the state trying to de-industrialize the United States so 3rd world countries could catch up.
eg: The EPA's war on coal, CO2 ( really? carbon dioxide is something like .038% of the earths atmosphere. If you multiplied that by 10 plants and crops would thrive. And the sheetheads in power want to tax it? ), drilling and the closing down of U.S refineries on the East coast. I could go on but you will probably have to edit my post anyway.
Don't ask me to call tonight.

It isn't the machine thats the issue, it's temps are controllable. It is the huge heat dump into the house and keep in mind that I haver a 82 year old lady here to make sure she doesn't drop dead from the heat.
Just to give you an idea yesterday all day and last night it rained here with temps in the 50'sF
I get up today and the house temp is 84F and thats with a window wide open in the living room 15 ft from the machine.
Now once I opened the slideing door to the porch 5ft behind it the house temps started dropping fast.
It just plain heats the house to an enormous degree.
Now the upside is this winter this thing may save me a ton on oil..![]()

Looks like my 2600K crashed again, but Ive been out of town and can't fix it.
Thanks for putting my 5670 rig back on the list SAM; appears to be doing better than the last time. Hopefully those systems are holding up while I'm gone. Apparently there was a flash flood in Colorado Springs; so hopefully any power outages got the systems back up ok.

My RAC is down as my dedicated cruncher (i7 990x) has been down since last Monday. My system started random BSOD's and then Windows complained that system files were missing so I decided to wipe my install and start fresh, however I then updated the firmware on my Vertex 2E and it went titsup. RMA time! It is a known problem with first gen Sandforce SSD's and OCZ will replace it. Also been having strange issues with the MB as my 1866 RAM would only run at 1333 even though BIOS is set at 1600.
As DFI are now gone from the market there are no more BIOS updates so I decided to "upgrade". I have been watching SB and SB-E but as I already have an almost unbeateable CPU, I decided to get a new revision MB (GA-X58A-UD3R rev.2) and go with a new Vertex 4 while I wait for the replacement SSD. I was surprised how hard it is to find new X58 boards now, choice is really limited. At least this one has an improved VRM, SATA3, and USB3.
Hope to be back up and running this week. In the meantime, my "server" is crunching WCG on about 12 cores.
