It's hard to give advice cause every system responds a little different. However, I think it's easiest when you start out using a fixed voltage with CPU LLC set to high. This allows the CPU to maintain an almost constant voltage. It won't drop or rise much between idle and load.
The system is stable at 4.7, 120.6 x 39, 1.35Vcc. Trying to go higher and potentially stabilize 5.0, as temps and voltages are still well within the safe range, but it's being difficult. It could also be that I haven't really had time to sit down and tinker for a few hours continuously.
LLC is set to High and manual Vcc, not offset.

I've been using AVX Linpack as it seems to cause higher temps, should I be using AVX Prime as well?

Yes, you could pass 20+ runs with Linx + latest linpack on SB-E and still BSOD with Prime v27.7 with-in a few minutes.

You were right. Got home from work on Thursday to see it was 9 hours AVX Linpack stable at 1.35Vcc. Loaded up Prime95 27.7 and it errored out in 38 mins. Had to up the Vcc to 1.37 for 24 hour stability in Prime95.
Now that I know 4.7GHz is stable, I've nowhere to go but up. Hopefully 5GHz won't be too much of a pain to stabilize, but if it is, I'll be back in here asking questions again.

Which 2400 rams go well on x79? I have a pair of Team 2400 c9's so do I get a second pair or get 4x4 of Ripjaws-Z or Tridents? Which chips does x79 like for benching and what can I expect to get out of them? I read that 2011 doesnt like much over 2400 so do I then aim for the tightest timings at 2400?

Pretty much any kit that uses 1.65VDIMM or less will run fine.
As far as speeds over 2400 go, it really depends on the IMC of your proc and your willingness to tinker in the UEFI. If you have a 2400 kit already, why not pop it in and see what speeds you can push out of it? My Samsung 1600 has hit 2500 on this RIVE, so I see no reason a 2400 kit matched with a decent IMC couldn't hit 2600+.
If you're worried the RAM itself won't clock that high, just wait a month or two. Corsair, G.Skill, and Team Group all showed off 2800+ kits at Computex and they should be hitting shelves soon.
