    1366 i7 CPU's - QPI DRAM Voltage Questions

    hi all,

I am just wondering how high have people had the QPI DRAM Voltage on their 1366 i7 CPU Overclocks ?

It may be called QPI VTT or something else on different motherboards , I am using the ASUS P6X58D-E and on this board it is called QPI DRAM.

    For eg.

    Q) How high is too high for QPI Voltage ?
    Q) In regards to keeping the QPI Voltage within 0.5V of DRAM Bus Voltage (does anyone know if it is safe or not for QPI Voltage to exceed the DRAM Bus voltage ?)

I want to try some overclocking again soon as I would like to hammer the QPI Voltage and see what happens, The highest ive been is around 1.38V
The ASUS TurboV Program starts going into the RED ZONE around QPI/DRAM Voltage of 1.50V - 1.60V.

My RAM is 1.65V and I am just wondering if it is acceptable or not for the QPI/DRAM Voltage to reach upto 1.65V aswell or should it strictly be kept below ?

In my past overclocking experience I was having troubles getting anything stable on 4Ghz+ , by memory it seemed that I was receiving some BSOD error codes which seemed to be pointing to QPI Voltage , so thats why im wondering how far it can be pushed.

Just looking for peoples thoughts , info and experiences.

    thankyou very much

Everyday use, Gulftown Qpi/Dram V (CPU VTT) stay under 1.3V . Other I core7 - I would not go over 1.4 V if using 24/7. Maybe the QPI BSOD is too much V

He has a 960. That's bloomfield, not gulftown.

I ran my bloomfields all with between 1.4875v and 1.525v QPI/DRAM. Very high voltage is required for 3x4GB kits, especially if they're over 1600MHz.

You'll need a good cooler, but as long as you keep the temps down, you'll be fine at ~1.5v QPI/DRAM.
