Sorry RAJA. No I did not make it into OS that time. It never does after a boot like that even if I never turn off the power. But that is one way that I can replicate it, by taking away power. Bad PSU?
Yes I will disable MRC Fast Boot. Thanks for all the help!!!!
I also Tried Kingston 4GB Kit at 1.66V. That did not work either after taking power away.
If I keep power to the system, it still has the issue of no boot.

you set the ram speed to 1600 @1.5v ...this never worked for me.

try auto ram speed and 1.65v on the rams. or 1600 and 1.75v

If nothing else helps, PM me a complete parts and config list and include memory module part numbers. I will pass the info on for replication and see what we can find.

No amount of RAM voltage or RAM speed fixed my issue.
I eventually just gave up. That was my finding... I went with an MSI Z77A GD65 picked up at my local FRYS. Price wasnt an issue here.

If the margin between needing a high tRC versus a slightly lower clock frequency are not large enough, the additional delay to tRC is of no real benefit.

Any updates and I will post them. If we are going to add it (i doubt we are), it will not be for a while. Next series of updates is already in the works and this is not a high priority as we dont think it will make any real difference in terms of performance.

hey, has anyone tried the M5G with the 30nm Samsung kit?
I wonder how fast they scale in the memory speeds list.

as Raja stated it is cpu dependent however most of them should be able to do 2600 11-13-13-35 at reasonable (1.65v) for benching.

24/7 use I have no idea.

Use EZ Flash 2 from UEFI. No need to rename.

Hello. Just bought a P8Z77-V + 2500K and for 4500 mhz i used 1.36V. Dunno if it's too much but with lower voltages i get blue screen random. I have one question also, compared with other mainboards i dont see the "VCCIO Voltage". I dont think this influence the performance of my pc but it would be nice to have it there in case i need it for ram
    i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz @ 1.36v // Asus P8Z77-V // 16 GB Kingston // Asus 560 GTX Ti // Corsair Force 3 120 gb

Think it's tied to SA, so use that to adjust. So, this won't be made into a separate item as it's tied hardware. Your Vcore is about average for that speed, so seems fine to me.

    @Raja,

after spending some time writing an elaborate description of my problem with the M5G, I realized I posted it in (maybe) the wrong thread.
I'll appreciate it if you could stop by there and check the pictures and details.

My apologies for the trouble Sir, I realized I posted it in the wrong place only after posting it..

You have hit the classic Sandybridge wall. These CPUs are not like older architectures. These first-gen ring bus CPU architectures hard-wall from being near 100% stable to completely unstable. Some CPUs top out even lower than yours.

I have the Gene, and just started playing with it a bit last night with my 2500K. Definably has a lot of features and is quite impressive. Can't wait to get an Ivy and some LN2 on this board.
I did have a problem trying to run an 8800 GTX+ on it though, actually tried two cards, two cables, two monitors and the only thing that it would recognize was the on board HDMI. I set it to PCI-E in the BIOS but still nothing. Any thoughts?

No ideas, not sure anyone has tested cards that old at HQ during validation.

Well looks like I will test a 570 GTX and see if that is the problem.

    Thanks.
almost spooky how easy this board is to OC.
it got tired of the 2500K in less then half a day
a true piece of engineering. I'm SO glad I decided to go on this board.
