Ha sorry about that. Tidying up a few things with the build tomorrow after a couple more parts come in, then off she goes to 'work'. Adding some more drives and some sound foam to keep it ultra quiet.

I am tempted to put the other 580 in there too...

Puts my dual X5670 and ATI 6950 to shame, 12.65. Have to win the lottery to afford those chips.

It isn't available for download via the product's support page, at least for now...maybe in a few days there is a link and a changelog.

Are Sandy Bridge 2P capable 6-core E5 26--s locked down like the 8-core ones or can they be strapped?

BTW, Gigabyte has announced that it will also be selling a 2P E5 Board - the Gigabyte GA-7PESH1 Dual Socket LGA2011 Motherboard, briefly reviewed at http://www.ocaholic.ch/xoops/html/mo...mid=714&page=0 .

I recall reading a thread where Cylas had observed that Sandy Bridge 1P capable Xeon 6-core E 16--s were not locked downlike the 8-core ones, particularly where the 1Ps (1650 and 1660) have an i7 siblings (i7_3630K and i7_3960X).

Please for give the forum noon's tech support question..

I've built 3 systems with these boards so far and one thing that is puzzling is the inability I seem to have to set PCI-E slots back to gen 2. The Advanced->PCI Subsystem Settings screen in the BIOS looks very different for me from that in the manual. I have a latest version of the BIOS. I'm missing PCI Express Gen2 Settings item entirely, as well as PCI 64bit Resource Handling.

Asus tech support has been unable to give me any pointers. They just tell me to look at page 4-35 of the manual, which looks different from what I have..

Anyone else see this? It's a real show stopper for me as I need to set at least one of the slots back so a picky set of cards I have will even show up.

Also, any find any memory they can reliably OC. I've gone thru pretty much have the QVL in tests as the best I can do and reliably boot either Win7 or Fedora 16 is 1866 on the GeIL Corsa memory listed. I can push that to 2133 in the BIOS and it still posts (doesn't at 2400), but Win7 and Fedora both behave .. very badly. I've tried a lot of memory off the QVL as well and the best I've gotten so far is 1600 reliably and sometimes 1866. Some g.Skill Ripjaws 2400 just showed up yesterday and I'll try those shortly.

    i have problem with vdroop

    i have

    2x Xeon e5-2689 (sr0hd) c1 rev. (26x default - 36x turbo 1-2 core - 33x 8 core active turbo)
    2x akasa venom voodoo
    ASUS z9pe-d8 ws
    zotac gtx 590
    ocz revodrive 3x2 480GB
    8x 4GB samsung ultra low voltage 1600 mhz 11-11-11 at 1.35v @ 7-8-7 at 1.5v
Thermaltake TR2X 1200W psu (one eps 8 pin directly coming from psu / one eps 8 pin converted from peripherals )

my problem is cpu's are not stable on default voltage.. linx or prime got errors 4-5 minutes after run..if i give extra voltage like 1.25V something like that stability is established .. but vdroop is too much.. at bios cpu voltage 1.25v ,, voltage on cpu at 3.3ghz drops 1.16 - 1.21..

i have another issue.. on manual there options for cpu boot voltage / cpu vtt voltage or pci-e gen1/gen2/gen3 settings.. they are hidden in my bios options.. i tried 0311 and 0405 bioses but all are same..

I have the same problem using bios 0311 and 0405. I can't get my 28nm ATI cards to post in the system and it needs a fix just like whatever was done in the sabertooth x79 1104 bios to get the 28nm AMD 7xxx to work.
What bugs the piss out of me is the manual shows...
